It just isn't said enough. Unless you are in a safe, exclusive, long term relationship, always use condoms. Condoms are relatively cheap, easy, and effective. Even for oral sex, the risks may be slight, but IT IS possible to spread HIV and STDs if you don't use a condom.
I've been having to use condoms for sex since our daughter was born 25 years ago & I recently bought some very cheap condoms on a NZ auction website. We had another child 3 years after her as well - but it was planned. My wife is going thru menopause & hopefully I wont need to use condoms anymore during sex for too much longer.
I totally agree with the OP. Everybody thinks it won't happen to them but somebody ends up being that statistic. It's funny how many guys end up choosing a condom and sex over no condom and no sex. And it's even more interesting how many of them who say they can't do it with one end up doing it perfectly fine. If they make an issue out of it I ask them why a few seconds of their pleasure is worth more than my lifetime of good health.
I think it should be left as a personal choice between the two people having sex rather than a blanket 'always' rule...
