Why do you go barefoot?

    It's B, C, and E for me.

I'd probably put up with shoes if I were comfortable in them, but I'm not, they make my feet hot and sweaty and smelly, and I get tired more quickly in shoes. On the other hand, I'm very comfortable barefoot, even when the grounds a bit rough, hot, cold, covered in glass, or what have you, I find that far less objectionable than being locked up in shoes.

As far as C goes, well as has been said, I like the look - it's party linked to my foot fetish as I like to see the jeans and feet look on girls, in fact there is nothing more attractive that a girl could wear as far as I'm concerned, but I also feel confident and like the look on myself.

E, well going barefoot is also a good way of bringing closet barefooters out of the woodwork. Perhaps they won't take off their shoes and join you on sight, but they might stop and have a chat - if you're out with a group of friends and for the first time you decide to go barefoot and see how they take it, there may well be one or two who will tell you that they know what you mean and might be tempted to try it one day. It's good to find other people who share the interest, and of course if I find any girls who like to go barefoot too, or at least tell me that they think it looks cool, or tell me that perhaps they'd give it a try, then due to my foot fetish I will really pick up on that. And of course, I do feel good and sexy when I'm feeling the ground with my feet. If I'm barefoot and enjoying the walk, and having the air circulating properly and not smelling or being hot and sweaty and being able to worry about other stuff then that's great, but what's even better is if I have that AND I'm surrounded by people who couldn't care less that I'm barefoot and carry on as normal.

All of the above for me. With the possible exception of the "attention" factor. I like being looked at sometimes, but for the most part, it scares me a bit - I generally get upset when other people watch me or stare.

I go barefoot for 2 reasons:

    1. Comfort
    2. I like to feel the pulse of the Earth beneath me.

I feel like I'm meeting the Land more intimately and treating it with more gentle respect walking on it without man made barriers.

I don't go barefoot often enough, when I do go barefoot, it's for comfort - and it's because sometimes, I'm too lazy to put shoes on.

Do you mean your 10 year old kid also has a foot fetish?

(I know I did at 10, or earlier, but I kept it to myself at the time. I was embarrassed by it.)

I agree -- "naturists" or "nudists" who wear shoes and are otherwise naked are pathetic!! (Not to mention completely DORKY!)

I'm always surprised how many 'nudists' wear shoes. It sometimes seems like the majority of nudists wear shoes. Bare feet seem like the most sensual part of being nude. I would rather be shirtless and barefoot and in shorts than 'nude' and in shoes. :)

Wearing shoes and saying one is a nudist is like someone saying "I'm a nudist but I always wear shorts." I don't think that exposing the groin while wearing shoes makes anyone more of a nudist than exposing the chest and feet while wearing shorts.

    Excellent!
My experience is that at first it feels kind of weird, and you feel like it draws attention to you (it does, I guess) but eventually you don't care about the attention, and wearing shoes will feel weird and uncomfortable, but the great part is, you no longer need anything but your bare feet!

In other words, stick with it and you will not only like it more, it will feel more natural and comfortable as time goes by.

    A. Because you are a naturist? I try to live naked 24/7, Shoes get in the way. If I have to wear something on my feet I wear Merrills.

    B. For comfort? I love the feel of the grass on my feet.

    C. Like the look? I got big feet with a hammer toe so I am definitely not going for the look.

    D. Like the attention? Yeah. It drives the clerks at 7-11 nuts. But then they also react variously when I go there to get my cigarettes naked, too.

    E. Foot Fetish? I do love sucking toes but I like sucking other toes rather than mine.

I love going barefoot simply because feet look better with their shoes and socks OFF!

    Get 'em bare
    Keep 'em bare

    A. Because you are a naturist?

Nope, I don't like being fully nude at all; I always wear a slip or bikini bottom at the very least. Bra's suck but I find being without a slip uncomfortable.

    B. For comfort?

Yup, one of the most important reasons.

    C. Like the look?

Yes, although this isn't a very important factor. I care for how I look about half the time, and I do think bare feet look very good with my gothic dresses & skirts. However, I don't always go around 'dressing up'; when I'm just going to the store or when I got some work to do, I just wear jeans & an old sweater and I really couldn't care less how I look... maybe bare feet look a bit odd in some situations, like with winter clothes/hat/scarf/gloves, but so what?

    D. Like the attention?

Yes -I often really enjoy attention. Even when it's not positive. People who yell comments across the street crack me up! Tooooo funny :) But it's more of an added bonus than a true reason... for I wouldn't wear anything that I didn't like and/or that wasn't comfortable just to attract attention, and I would keep going barefoot even if no one would ever notice again.

    E. Foot Fetish?

Nope, definitely not... one of the things I like least about going barefoot is the association with foot fetishes; sometimes I get some dude looking at my feet with a lot more interest than I feel comfortable with. But before any foot fetishists here get upset, this isn't totally a barefoot problem... as a single-by-choice woman I occasionally run into men of all kinds who just refuse to believe someone would chose to be single, and not all were interested in my feet... I think it's more of a problem that single women sometimes face rather than that foot fetishists are so much worse than other men! Most guys of all kinds are fine, but there's just a few who don't know what 'no' means... And it's not unlikely at all that over the past eight years there've also been guys who would've bugged me but looked down and thought 'ick, some weirdo hippie, I'll go find someone else to hit on'.

    I'm missing one:

    F. spiritual/religious

I'm not deeply religious but going barefoot definitely feels more respectful to the Earth and any gods and goddesses that may be out there, whatever their exact nature and form. :)

Myranya, it's good to see you here. I know you from the SBL list. :)

You know what's funny? I was scrolling this page from the bottom up, and knowing that I had seen you make an appearance here a few days ago, as I read the last few paragraphs of your post here, I already suspected it was you before I read who had made the post! LOL! :D

    Happy new year!

I go barefoot because I like the feel, and the look.

It is very comfortable to be barefoot at home, and some places publicly.
    Driving barefoot is fun too!

    A. Because you are a naturist?

Not a naturist. I grew up in a beach town, where people I hung out with either wore flip-flops all the time or didn't bother with shoes. If it got too cold, then you wore socks or big knitted boots. We were doing the Ugg boot thing in 1985...not like it's a modern trend or anything.

    B. For comfort?

Totally for comfort. Much more relaxing and free to go barefoot. Spring and summer especially.

    C. Like the look?

It's good and versatile. Doesn't work in posh places though.

    D. Like the attention?

The attention is more by people who are somehow freaked out by it. You can have 16 colors in your hair, every part of your body pierced and tattooed, but walk into their home or business barefoot and they freak out. Walk in with more than one toe ring and they really get bent. The last of the punk rock things you can do now.

    E. Foot Fetish?

Not really. It can be a turn on to be barefoot in places where you really feel what you walk on, or to go barefoot with someone of the opposite sex, but it's not necessary for me. I just really enjoy going barefoot and try to do it with style. I'm the only one of my friends who does it. They all got used to me doing it, having known me for years.
