I haven't done anything fun for Halloween in about 5 years. The last two years haven't had money for costumes or any friends throwing parties, and the three years before that were all about taking my nephew from house to house for candy and I felt too old and silly to dress up myself.
I remember going trick or treating when I was in 6th grade and my cousin was in 8th. Well, I don't think we actually went trick or treating but that was our excuse to get out of the house. We met up with her friends and one guy gave us some pill that he just called speed. I was innocent and didn't even know what speed was but I've always had a healthy sense of adventure so I swallowed that sucker down. It was probably just aspirin or something, or a really low dose of ritalin. it didn't do shit. I was only 11, about to turn 12 at the time so I don't really think kids are necessarily getting any worse, they're just not as innocent about things anymore. Our generation had to find things out slowly, kids today can just look it up on the internet. Anywho, I think I'm going to be a house elf like in harry potter for halloween...big ol' ears, giant pillowcase toga. easy enough.
I know, when I was a kid I only heard about things like women having sex with donkeys. Now with the internet its only a mouse click away!
When I was in middle school there were a bunch of kids who were bragging about having sex. I thought it was fucking ridiculous because I was like...do you even have your period yet? Do you know what emotional complications come from having sex? I mean when girls become sexually active at that age they think it's normal and sex is expected of them from every guy they date for two weeks. God, imagine how many partners they rack up by the time they're in college! I don't understand why they're in such a rush to deal with that stuff. Pregnancy scares, STDs, I mean we were still at a point where we had to go to Sex Ed classes every year and everyone still laughed when they saw peepees and weewees.
LOVE Halloween, it is my Christmas. Every year at work I have won the costume contest! My favorite was when I dressed like a dead person with a slit throat, I really looked dead! I went to Goodwill, bought some jeans and shirts, went home, sliced them up, rolled around on the garage floor in the oil spots, doused them in fake blood, I worked hard at that one. I really enjoy when people come up with creative ideas, like one girl I know who went as a cup of hot chocolate, very cool. It annoys the hell out of me when people go to the Halloween store, buy a packaged outfit and think they are original. Especially the bimbo costumes...it is not called "unimaginative bimbo-ween" Halloween is a time for fun, when you can come up with something cool, funny, scary, or unusual. But come on...a french maid costume.....do maids in France even wear shit like that? I know people are going to be hating on my post but it's factual! It's just cool when I see people who are dressed as something that they took time on and used their actual brain to come up with something truly inventive! I dont nknow, I could be biased from being an art student but either way...halloween is bad fuckin ass
^^^ creampie, I totally agree!! I love when people get creative. Men and women both. I love group costumes too! We've gone as the Village People, Alice in Wonderland Characters (that one was incredible), and one two of my guy friends went as Siegfried and Roy, and I was a white tiger haha. The tiger costume was a little slooty....but it was still creative!
yayy! someone has my back! Cool, Village people! one year I went to a party as Gilligan and my chubby friend was the Skipper, he was beating me over the head all night with his captain's hat saying....Little Buddy, you've ruined everything again!
I love it too! I want to be Alice In Wonderland this year.. A few years ago I was prego for Halloween and made a cow costume. It was awesome
Halloween is my Christmas too. I always welcome holidays as an excuse for celebration but halloween is the only holiday I will go all out for. It's the most fun. Actually, I kind of dread christmas. It's just too stressful and the fun gets sucked out, so I tend to do the bare minimum for christmas. I don't like all the hype of the gift giving, the only thing I do like is that people seem to be nicer during "the holiday season." I'm all for creative costumes too but I also like silly pacakaged costumes (trying to think of of one of the top of my head...banana suit?) cuz atleast they dressed up in Something... Guys, dress up for something for halloween, anything! You're never too old I always kind of feel halloween is dying cuz I see less kids trick or treating ever year, less people dressing up...
my pumpkin last year and a halloween pic from last year.. I was a flapper and one of my kids was a bumble bee (Bees Knees) and the other was apparently a (zombie) baby bear or something... I didn't get too creative with the costumes cuz I had just popped a kid out a month prior and was exhaustedddd..
kewl beanz! (I hear you about having a kid, I was pregnant and dressed as a zombie, it took all the energy I had haha)
hmmm, I remember as a kid toilet papering the houses of boys my friends and I liked, once it got late and trick or treating was over, lol I also remember in high school, there was always the one guy, that had to dress up as a woman for their halloween costume.. what was up with that? was anyone here that guy?..
omg, I did the SAME ONE. great minds.......heh heh I am looking for my pics, I'll post em when I find em come on WEEN! get here already!
