I've visited about 10 times and always found it soo beautiful and green. I stayed in state college visiting a friend. I suppose the grass is always greener on the other side though. I'm in california right now and hate it. Wanna trade places with me? =] we can create a show called 'hippy swap' ha..much life the 'wife swap' show. 0.o
I grew up[ in PA, original Hillbilly. I live in Georgia now, but PA is an amazing state. I only came to GA to start a hippy type campground. You will find some great people. I am from the Altoona area.
I spent quite a bit of time on the eest side and the east side. Only time i spent in the middle was visiting the amish buying fireworks and driving through. And i have to say that most of everything i see in PA is either really great or really lame. They dont seem to be in the middle of the road on much when it comes to enjoying the state. So i can see if someone dosnt like if if they dont appreciat what PA does well. And i can see how someone wiuld love it if the shitty things they do can be overlooked.

philly is usually 10degrees warmer than PGH.. even in the winter time. however when they get slammed with a coastal winter storm. they feel it more.
Many a day we got cold rain in Atlantic City when places a few miles inland got snow. But Philly is still under the maritime influence, not as snowy as further west.
I worked with a doctor once who made the statement, "There are only two progressive areas in Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. The rest is just an extension of West Virginia." How very true. The West Virginia segment elected our current governor. He'd have us in the Stone Age if he could.
When I was there I was about 10 miles south of Phili and a few times I remember visiting the city.... It seemed OK when I was there (Around 1990)
Philadelphia has suffered from the decline in ship building and overall rust belt phenomena. There are still good places there and I love Independence Hall, the Franklin Museum, Edgar Allen Poe's house museum (struggling so please show them some love), and the Liberty Bell. I wanted to see the steps that Stallone jogged up in Rocky. Next time. Philly Cheese Steaks are awesome, but a bit rich to eat on a regular basis. Great public transit. And I know of naturists there, so that scores extra points in my book.
Pennsylvania has some beautiful scenery. I love looking over the hills and rivers and experiencing the four seasons. The amazing fall leaves, the breath taking spring flowers and bushes after a light morning rain. The snow covered trees, like you are walking through a fairy tale ice forest. Lake Pymatuning and Wilhelm in the lazy days of summer - getting a bite on your fishing line. The three rivers, downtown Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas can be very lovely. I like PA ._.
