Why have I always thought gelato was from Mexico?

I guess cuz the neighborhood I grew up in was Mexican dominated and everyone there ate it like it was their thing

Seriously though, there would be gelato carts operated by Mexicans, it was sold at Mexican restaurants, and served at all my Mexican friends birthday parties. Like, I've always associated it with Mexico. The shit was everywhere and the Italians didn't really have a presence, it was by all counts a Mexican neighborhood.

I must be losing my damn mind

I don't mind other people drinking at me n mama's party..
but everyone will prolly be trashed (drunk) but me ....

heh... idk, I have never heard of Mexican gelato but somehow I can see it... not sure why. maybe their is some other Mexican dessert that it reminds me of?
but yea gelato-from Italy. and where I go to the beach around here there is so much yummy Italian gelato that you just can't beat.. it's so good. i'm craving gelato all the damn time now.
but hey!! 3 more hours and it will be here in my house (num num num num)... I heard an article in Time mag a while ago (couple yrs I believe) about how all these ppl from the u.s. (and other places) are spending 5 or 10 grand to go to Italy and take a course in making gelato and coming back here and opening gelato stands or restaurants and making decent money.

btw... my ACTUAL bday (to anyone who is confused.. mine n *MAMA*'s bdays are close together n she mentioned to me that she never went on a roller coaster before OR been to a rave that was shut down by the cops.. so... this joint bday party idea was born...

IN ANY CASE**** AT's actual bday is this Saturday. So, is the party going on until then? If not, we need to restart it..open that shit back up.
