Hi guys.. For a while ago, i got really interested in yoga, and i did it at least once a day, I felt so good when i was doing it, and i wanted to do yoga in the "right" way, so i wanted to be a vegetarian, I have never been a great meat-eater, and i thougth that it would be an easy thing for me to do.. i stopped eating meating.. and for a while, it felt good.. but after like a month, it became too hard for me to manage, I felt tired all the time, and i missed meat..! now i'm eating meat again, but i really miss yoga.. are you "yoggies" also vegetarians?..
vegetarian here. for me a life without meat combines with other elements of my life improved my health and spirit. i remember the first two weeks were like detox though.
yeah im also a vegetarian. Have been for approx. 7-8 months, havent ever looked back. I found it hard for the first 1-2 months, lack of energy etc however i stuck with it, and found other sources which are actually alot better, and i feel so much better then i wAs when i was eating meat. But everyone is different.
dont eat meat everyday its bad i do some yoga here and again but for the most part purely meditation. if u want to effectively be able to meditate you absolutely HAVE to be a vegan or at least vegetarian because it allows for you to be much cleaner of mind (how can you be clean of mind when you are ignoring such an obvious fact that killing for the single purpose of taste is wrong? you can get all you need from plant based product) just remember to eat lots of soy and if you take a look out there for books you will find so many from simple recipes to creating complex proteins by mixing different foods. ive heard that Vegetarianism for Dummies is excellent. good luck i know u can do it. niNnY
When I cut meat from my everyday diet, I started out eliminating anything that had previously had legs. Finding alternative sources of fats and protiens is a lot easier when you wean yourself, especially if you consume plenty of red meat. Exercising both body and mind also makes easier transitions into a vegetarian lifestyle, and it sound like you already have a fondness for yoga. Use that, too.
After becoming a veggie my whole body felt much cleaner, not sorta gummed up with animal fat, fancy going vegan but I think protein & vit B12 would become a problem. I'm now a keen dedicated vegetarian . And very much prefer to see animals also enjoying their life, not dead and cut up on a plate, or sandwiched between a bun.......ugh!!!!
i felt so much better inside and out when i turned over to veggie. my body began to heal (an illness opened new doors of learning and life to me), and my health improved. now, most people would have no idea how i suffered. my spirit also healed in ways i was not aware of it hurting. one reason can insight the change to a life without meat, but there are so many more ways it was affect your life.
Nah... I eat meat everyday. And I still feel great and tranquil after I meditate... I dunno what the rest of these people are doing wrong...
Meditation is about being alert and being present. As one makes progress spiritually he starts making conscious decisions and starts questioning every one his actions critically. Eating living things is not acceptable by any standard. More and more studies keep suggesting that meat eating is the cause for so many diseases ( latest study decidedly proves eating of red meat increases risk of cancer by almost 30%). As the spiritual seeker does not take any thing for granted he will give up his meat eating at some point of his ascent. In a way I feel giving up meat is a milestone in any seeker's spiritual life and is a measure of his maturity and understanding of spirituality in general. If you are eating meat and still feeling good you certainly could do better by not eating meat. I have seen many people who smoke and drink look very healthy but that doesn't mean smoking and drinking are not bad for health.
Stricley Vegan hear! and big on Rawfood, macrobiotic. climate and seasonal local eating a dish i made for lunch today:
It takes 10x more grain and food to grow and feed all the animals so you can eat meat products, then if we were to just eat what this beautiful earth provides for us. !!!!!10x!!!!!!! Including water
I am almost a vegetarian ( i eat fish) but otherwise i'm like a vegan: no egg, no dairy no strange E 200 ?.... (with animal corpses in). To stop eating meat wasn't the hard part because i've never really liked meat, except chicken, but i have to say that stopping eating milk products as cheese icecream yogurt.... that was the toughest. I really was addicted without knowing it, and you know what?! I did it! Because my problem was that I ate chcocolate, sweets, chips, junk food, but wanted to stop but couldn't, but now, being almost like a vegan, there was no way I could eat those things(there was milk or egg in it), it motivated me! And I have been trying SO many years to skip the junk food, well this is the first time I have been consistent, and followd trough my goal. And I feel great.
Hi I'm a vegetarian and a keen nudist, My body enjoys the freedom from clothes on the outside and a cleaner feeling inside especially since giving up milk products........Milk makes Mucos........
I'm a veggie and will never go back to eating meat. I absolutely love it. And my yoga instructer is vegan.
it is completely possible to meditate and practise Yoga and eat meat, alot of people I know who do are meat eaters and are as healthy as anyone else. I choose to be vegetarian purely because for me, personally, I feel alot healthier without meat in my diet.
i dont really see how meateating has anything to do with being 'allowed' to do yoga. some people (me) need to eat meat to be healthy. should i forgo the health benefits of yoga and meditation because of some dogmatic belief system? naw, i dont think so. i tend to take what works for me, and forget about the rest of it.
eat to an extent your body allows dont over eat or the opposite (veg or nonveg) but do have a balanced diet 2 be veg or nonveg : rem if you eat nonveg at the same time u r eating disease of the food proof:do enquire of origin of aids. your body will be imune to those disease of food most of the times but not always
