Well, that depends on where you're going to be. There is usually a huge pot rally outside the Vancouver Art gallery on April 20th. :afro:
Kelowna is a beautiful little city with lots of beaches and biking trails - Hot sands beach is great as well as Boyce Gyro beach. The kettle valley railroad is a biking trail that used to be a railroad in the early 1900s I believe. Kelowna also has a great downtown scene. Tofino is amazing!! It's on Vancouver island though very small there's tons to do. Surfing is must in tofino the waves are usually pretty good depending on the beach. Has some great cafe's and coffee shops. I love Tofino its so authentic! Nelson or anywhere in the kootneys is also lovely. There are many hot springs and super cool shops with handmade stuff. The kootneys are also full of friendly fun loving people! All of British Columbia is beautiful and very nice enjoy your stay! Ooohh and I almost forgot the Great Bear National Park in the queen charlotte islands is sooooo pretty and peaceful I'd be sure to check it out!
Tofino is a lot of things, including great surfing, but authentic is the last thing I'd call it. It's tarted up and tourist-ified until it's as fake as a three dollar bill. If you want authentic, Ucluelet is a lot closer.
I used to fish out of Ucluelet in the early 80s. Awesome little town! But then Tafino was undisturbed back then to.
I would definitely go for the suspension bridges and the parks they are in. If you're not bound only to "exterior" sights, take a quick look through this list for an inspiration. It pretty much sums ups the most obvious places.
