I went through an operation. A simple one that went bad. Operation table would of been my end. After about two months of hospitalization and frequent visits I now am stuck with four scars that are ugly. They are dark nd noticeable everyone is telling me to get a tattoo to cover them up but I want them to lighten up. I love my scars I just wish they were not dark. Any tips to lighten them?

I had scars on my arms and found an oil in the chemist which I would rub on and it helped somewhat.I'm sorry I can't remember what the oil was called, but if you ask in the chemist (pharmacy) they might be able to find something for you.

There is something called "bio oil" that is supposed to lighten scars. Not tried it, not sure if it works.

Agree. My son had hip surgery and had an angry scar that was about 12" long. The surgeon recommended this and it has reduced the puckering and also the color of the scar.

    Time lightens scars, too.
Try massage to break up and realign the "secondary" scarring just outside the incision.

Yes the one I used was "Bio-Oil." It seemed to work.
