I was pretty excited when I read about this, but I'm not getting my hopes up yet! There is still quite a bit of research and testing to be done. I also recently read about HIV being treated with a different strain of HIV. The two battle for dominance. When neither can, they both go dormant. It isn't a cure, but it seems like a viable treatment option. Hopefully since the melittin in bee venom does not adversely affect the surrounding "good" cells while destroying the virus, this will lead to an actual cure and not just a preventative measure.
This a very interesting topic I love learning new things and different things but I do got alot of street knowledge but I'm glad their something that can cure people's one mistake that can ruin family's jobs and health
Yes I have heard of this Skip and i wonder... Could this be the reason BEE's seem to be dying off?? (as if they didnt want anyone using the venom for this purpose)
I remember a few years ago seeing on Animal Planet, people who had "bee sting therapy"-getting stung multiple times a day, to boost their immune system and metabolism, etc. and swore by it, but it was somewhat brushed off as extreme and weird. Funny this comes up later.... goes to show there's still loads more to learn about.
Well, big pharma would stand to lose a lot if this would pan out... and big pharma has FAR, FAR reaching hands (as you know) soo.... I'd say... yes?
and I'm sure the NSA has been keeping tabs on these bee's and know exactly what their venom is capable of.
This is what I like to see.... This is what we need in these perilous times of planetary turmoil... a return to the pharmacopeia that nature has provided us with. In times of great peril (like right now), I think its always best to look first toward a model or solution that already exists within nature... Nature has been at this game for a very long time, and it knows what's going on here far better than we do. Most people are probably blissfully unaware that a good majority of our most effective drugs are either directly identified and extracted from plants, or use chemical compounds found in plants as a sort of intermediate step in the catalysis of new drugs...
Wild, though not a complete surprise: bee venom is thought to be helpful in curing a variety of physical ailments.
One problem: bee populations, worldwide, are being affected by the pollution that humans are producing. [Note: this is only one factor.] We are killing entire swarms--queen and all. You shall reap what you sow, humanity.
Great news. My friend is HIV positive and which I believe will turn to aids. I have seen this infection devastate comminites peoples lives. And it never falls to be a tear to my eye when I still see that it's killing people. So this is great news.
