http://mises.org/quiz.aspx Take this quiz and see how much of a Libertarian / Austrian Economist you are! (It's long and fairly involved)
I think my brain just split into two and slipped out of my ears. Long and fairly involved, my ass. LOL.
Interesting, and although a few questions provided a little difficulty in selecting between 2 of the choices, I ended up with 86/100 knowing in advance that I fully subscribe to the Austrian economic school.
68/100 when I took the full 25-question test. Many questions I was on the fence between two choices. 69/100 when I retook the truncated 10-query version.
I still haven't had the patience for this quiz, although I fit squarely into libertarian in the Nolan diagram. In fact, I lean ancap.
LOL – and I’m sure Creationists or Racists could set up such a ‘quiz’ to show just how creationist or racist they are. The question is can right wing libertarianism be defended from criticism in any rational or reasonable way, so far it has failed.
No bal, that wasn't the question. If you read the thread title, it clearly states the question of the thread. Your constant and repetitive derailments are tiring.
And I was saying you might as well have had something in a creationist or racist forum asking - How creationist are you? Or How racist are you? It not how right wing libertrian you are but if you can defend the ideas and none of you seem able.
The thing about defending right wing libertarianism in what you call a rational or reasonable way is that it will fail for you because you don't like right wing libertarianism. If you're fundamentally opposed to the very idea of it, you won't likely be open to any arguments made for it.
Where do you get this stuff? Libertarianism isn't about bigotry or hatred. You'd know that if you actually listened to people you disagreed with before immediately writing them off as evil.
Vic Yes a don’t like right wing libertarian ideas BUT the reason for that is because having looked at them I found them to be deeply flawed, with many unable to stand up to the mildest scrutiny. As many here have explained their idea would most likely lead to a vast increase in the power and influence of a few to the detriment of the majority. I’m not surprised that people cannot defend the ideas - I don’t think they can be defended, what does surprise me is that these ideas find supporters, I mean why would anyone support flawed ideas they cannot defend in any rational or reasonable way? I don’t write people off and I do listen, and I don’t think right wing libertarians are motivated by ‘hate’ (although there can be an element of that when it comes to the ‘state’ in some of them) and I definitely don’t think them evil, just ill informed. What I was pointing out is that a ‘quiz’ set out by a right wing libertarian group to show ‘how libertarian you are’ does not mean that right wing libertarian ideas can be defended. I mean so what if the result shows you to be a right wing libertarian, it just means you a member of a group that can’t defend your ideas, it’s really just telling you just how ill informed you are.
57/100 seems like i have a bit of a hangup with the Chicago school of thought here :/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_school_of_economics
Oh and once again the right wing libertarians ‘post and run’, why oh why oh why do people actually fall for these silly ideas?
