I mean, I have one. But I'm bored of it to the point I can't summon the energy to do it well. And looking for a job sucks worse than taking a cock up the ass. This thread is for sharing job search horror stories.
I was going to do that, until I checked my latest pay stub and realized I got a raise. Suddenly, I was aware of how much money I was about to cost myself.
What sucks worst about finding a job is that you have to more or less sell yourself. In other words, your soul... if you have one. Sometimes you can't fault those who leach off the system.
not mention, these days they check your credit, facebook, sign non-compete disclosures and try to low ball you on salary requirements.
The worst part of job searching, for me at least, is tailoring a cover letter for a specific job. I may adjust my resume a little bit here and there depending on the job description, but for the most part I don't change it. I don't mind the actual search or interviews, except when talking money. It always is really uncomfortable, and I NEVER negotiate it.
a company called me on my obama phone today. I had one minute left of air time. haha .. Thanks obama..
I secured mine before I started sending out resumes. My boss had made an adverse comment about some of my postings. My shite used to be wide open.
I got a job and I'm ridiculously excited. I don't have to start until after the wedding (a little less than 3 weeks away now) and just as I start, my first period of unemployment runs out. It probably won't be near what I used to make, but I'll start at minimum wage again if I have to.
I'm looking for a job, and am not liking tailoring cover letters and re-ordering my CV. I have not had to do any of this for over a decade. I especially despise when you have to provide endless amounts of 'supporting evidence,' and are asked to 'describe yourself' even for the most menial of jobs around. I decided to completely remove a 'personal profile' from my CV. It would be interesting to read peoples CV's (resume) I promise not to steal ideas from some of the better e.gs - cross my heart, swear on my second cousins life.
I've never had a hard time finding a job that I like. After sending resumes to 2 or 3 places I've always landed one. Granted, I am only 26 and have only had to look twice. *knocks on wood*
i hate how hard people make it. please send a resume, and cover letter, and application, and a cool giant picture representing why the fuck we should call you. BITCH. All you should need is my phone # and a resume.
It always sucked when I was working in white collar jobs. Very frustrating and borderline demeaning. But as a mechanic I can work wherever I want, and on my terms. One of the major upsides to my occupation.
