Well, at the very least its decreased by two grand-daughters. :D
And when you're numbers are that small, that makes a sizable percentage,

A lot of new articles I'm finding say 'WBC loosing membership rapidly' but don't publish numbers. What I eventually found was this.

For different motivations and intent--most likely for commercial use. I doubt few would generate death threats and the like.

there actions are terroristic, enticing riots and have very little to do with free speech ..

everyone of them should be considered a troll, and people should throw rocks and rotten food at them.

wbc are scumbags, but I think you've got a point. just because I hate someone or what they have to say doesn't mean that I approve of using gestapo tactics to shut them up.

the law should keep them out of earshot from funerals though. I don't see how that kind of protest should be a protected right.

I do disagree with their choice of place for protests...but it's a tough call for me. I would be interested to learn where speech has been regulated in the past, where time and location are concerned. Certainly this isn't the first time this issue has come up. I do recall there was an effort to limit their access to funerals, but I'm not sure where that landed. I'm assuming that the funeral grounds are private property; however, the street would be public.

I have no love for these people, but I wouldn't want your voice or mine silenced either. We tolerate the rights of others so that ours might be preserved, too.

no pardon necessary. I wasn't sure why you posted the source. I was just saying that the source doesn't matter, if that was your reason for posting.

    agreed.

I'm for free speech, but my definition may be more narrow than others have.

I think that free speech means that you have a right to communicate ideas to people who want to hear them.

I don't think that it means that you can use speech as a weapon. clearly, protesting at a funeral harasses the families of the deceased

But from there where do we stop. Public speech is the cornerstone of the First Amendment. Anyone can claim harm because of what they heard from another. I'm tempted to agree with you, but there is potential for further limitations if we start here or anywhere else. I feel like an asshole right now, but I think we are reaching dangerous ground. If they are on public property while speaking their diatribe...?

I feel ya and I sympathize.

How ironic that people on a "free speech" site are cheering when people are not allowed their free speech.

I wouldn't be spewing hate like they do, or I would expect this sort of backlash.

I think they're cheering at evil being conquered, hate being put out. Nobody has a problem with their free speech; it's the cruelty they are inflicting that MUST BE STOPPED.
