I remember bartending I'd always give the change back even when I know they meant for me to keep it. Not a good habit assuming I can always keep the change. I bartended a good while and never had a problem really. The few times there was a tiff I was able to remedy it. I never had a cash register over or under.
At the store I go to, they often do that. I don't think I've ever been shortchanged. I use my debit card 95% of the time, so the chances to do so are small. I, probably wouldn't even notice. I'm really bad at keeping track of money and that's why I mostly use my debit card. I think stealing is wrong, no matter how it happens. If someone made a mistake and didn't charge me for something and I noticed, I'd say something about it. Even if it's Walmart. I can't help it. I accidentally stole a chocolate bar once and I felt so bad when I noticed. I should have gone back, but I felt awkward to say "so I was using the self checkout thing and forgot to ring this, can you charge for it? I swear I didn't mean to steal it?!" I remember when I used to go grocery shopping with the stroller, I would pay for everything and just put everything back in basket without any bags (trying to be eco-friendly and all that). Whenever I did this I didn't use the self-checkout. One time as I'm getting out of the cash register the manager one time chases me down to check that I had paid for my groceries. I showed him the receipt and luckily he didn't feel the need to crosscheck each item since it was around $150 worth of groceries. The whole transaction had taken place practically in front of him as he talked to someone else, It was strange all he said was "sorry, you just didn't have any bags".
bottom dollar, auldies, saveAlot dont use bags., well they do but you have to pay for them.. if you want bags, you need to bring your own. like those canvas hemp bags.. or the ghetto box thing.
the parking lot is a haven for those trying to get quarters for a can of beer or crack. Its like that movie with tom hanks stuck in the airport.. both aldies and bottom dollar make you pay for carts.
Speaking from someone who worked with money for many many years... mistakes can happen really easily. You shouldn't assume someone purposefully stole. After working for 10 or so hours, honestly the bills just start blurring and I don't even know what I am doing anymore. But then again, I am the kind of person that assumes the best of everyone.
and to noxious gas fuck walmart....they are chinas bigest customer....they can suck my dick steal eveything you possibly can from those corporate piecesof shit hippie site remember?.....not a lot of fuckin walmateers here
Then you shouldn't be handling money in the first place. No, handling money is simple, just don't treat it like money, it's only pieces of paper. If I had a cashier that routinely had discrepancies, they were stealing 98% of the time. Here is a simple test, If I gave you $100 in twenties, would you count it as 20-40-60-80-100 or would you count the number of bills X the denomination; 5x20=100? If you count money, especially large amounts, and count like 10-20-30, you are going to inevitably fuck up and lose track and miscount every time. I would routinely count cash up to $20-$40 grand nightly, you learn quick that adding the $ value is a lot more work than counting the number of bills. Hell, I can even pick out a counterfeit simply by feel, done many times.:bobby:
i worked at an internaional courier for 2 yersback inthe80s we stole so much shit from them that we sometimes had to jockey cars around so each of us could fill our trunks close to the door everything from electric guitars to cases of percocette fuck those union blocking motherfuckers....you dont want us to organize?...fine...i will be taking my benefits in merch right out that back door ...marantz was a huge customer...all of us had killer stereos thanks to ''work'' i dont feel guity at all..i would do it over again ina second all corporate crime is fine as long as you dont let some fuckwad catch you and turn you in
I don't know if you know this, but humans aren't robots and we do make mistakes. Doesn't mean we are evil people out to fuck you over. So I assume you have never made a mistake in your entire life? Amazing!
And yeah, I have identified counterfeit money... but that doesn't mean I can't make a mistake after counting money all day. But yeah, I am a trusting person so I don't just assume every person is out to fuck me over.
Damn, a little touchy there. Think about it, if you consistently make mistakes doing something, don't you think maybe you shouldn't do it? Did I ever call you an evil person out to fuck people over???? If you can't count money consistently without mistakes, then you shouldn't be handling money, pretty much a no-brainer. and in answer to your question, no I never made mistakes counting money that resulted in any discrepancies or issues with customers in 20 years. Sure I made mistakes, but caught them before they were a problem.
Aldi food stores don't charge you for shopping carts. You insert a quarter to release the cart, when you re-park it you get a quarter back. A very intelligent way to keep people from leaving carts all over the parking lot and putting dents in my car.
They Do The Same Here In OZ, You Never See An Aldi Shopping Cart Abandoned By The Wayside, Only One's From Coles And Woolworths... Cheers Glen.
