I would consider myself a slut. I have a decent amount of sex because I enjoy it. I consider a slut anyone who has a bunch of sex, and that's about it.

 

As a rule I dislike the term 'slut', as I feel a woman has just as much right to be liberal minded about how much sex she has & who with. However, if I had to define what I would class as being sluttish, I think it would be when someone made herself (or himself for that matter) sexually available because of it being what their peers expect of them, or pressure them into.

It doesn't matter how much sex a person chooses to have. What matters is that they have the personal pride for it to be what THEY want.

 

If "slut" is suppose to be derogatory then a slut is someone who is promiscuous out of spite. There is NOTHING wrong with a woman who likes to sleep around, so long as she isn't cheating on her partner. Open relationships wouldn't count in this case. If a woman is comfortable with her sexuality, good on her. This double standard boggles my mind. A man can bed a thousand women and he's a hero. A woman fellates two guys within a week? "WHOOORE!"

Those who berate women for having an active sex life are morons. But like it or not, a man who beds 1000 women will always be placed on a higher pedestal than a woman who does the same, simply because it's harder for men to bed women. I praise women who have lots of partners, but the feat is just not comparable to a man who is able to do the same.

 

It's interesting how each of you change the definition to mean what ever you want it to mean. The truth is the dictionary definition is "A slovenly or promiscuous woman". Only one person on here has the guts to call it as it is...Rosalynn. A slut of great courage.

Slut and promiscuous are meant to be taken as synonyms. I've been called a slut by women who feared I would lay with their partners, and by men who didn't stand a chance and knew it. I've also been called a slut by women who wished they could live as I do.

The presumtion seems to be that I am indiscriminate, do not employ safer sex practices, chase men who would otherwise be faithful to their partners, lie, and accept payment. I do none of those things, and those accusations hurt when they come up. However, the sting lasts but a second before it is replaced by pity.

What is a slut? Slut is a word tossed around by prudes and the sexually frustrated to shame and disparage sex positive women who know what they want and how to get it.
