You not thru reaping whirlwinds yet? Americas power, alongside a history of western imperialism, is what got us where we are now . Like you said 'we've been fighting this war for a decade',some countries have been 'fighting it' for longer-still no sign of winning by military means.

Wipe out all the terrorists you can find-then multiply by ten or a hundred those you just created !

I could go into how i think nearly every incident of terror was a conspiracy but im just going to point out that not a single act of terror has been committed to my knowledge that the government didn't greatly benefit from.

I haven't read all 32 pages of this. But terrorism is a strategy. It's a burn all strategy. I'm not against all military solutions to terrorism, but to kill all terrorists till there are no more left is almost inherently going to make things worse.

While battles may be won, wars are won only when the opposition unconditionally surrenders. But then there will always be those who will promote a basis for new wars.

Very true my friend. Terror predates every 'ism' & if as a species we ever truely put it behind us then we'll know that we have evolved.

Theres an interesting book I'd like to recommend,by an English/American Writer; Margaret Hefferman, entitled ; 'Willfull Blindness'. The titles actually a legal term in english law but the subject is about a curious part of human nature that afflicts us all.

Though the books not particularly about terrorism,it gives a lot of examples & motives for how & why we don't see the obvious in front of us. Very insightful examination of human nature. I cannot find an American publisher but the book was shortlisted for the F/T/Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year Award.

I do applaud what she, Margaret Hefferman, claims to be her 'mantra'. "You can't just consume; you have to contribute. I firmly believe that, if you are lucky enough to be born in the developed world, to have an education and reasonable security, then you are among the most privileged on earth. And so you have to give something back.'"

opposition,ha! ha!once again your selective" choose words" cause me much intellectual amusement.wars are only won when the evil war starters of wars old or new, who i choose to call the "agressors" not the opposition, withdraw, knowing that their reighn of evil will never win over the power of good in the people who refuse to entertain their evil ways in their countries.and yes i agree, their will always be those who will promote a new basis for war.one of my biggest concerns for future generations of people all over the world is how many more will die in ongoing wars and new ones because of more generations of innocent children being lied to,brainwashed and programmed to believe all the ignorant lieing propaganda handed down to them by their own people, who had the same ignorance handed down ta them, which i am sure will only contribute to many new wars in the future.individuals have a responsibility to educate their children in facts of truth, not lies.it is the only way forward towards world peace!

    roamy,

Wars are won when one side surrenders. If the agressor wins, they are unlikely to withdraw. But I'm unable to apply 'evil' to one side or the other in the case of Ireland, with the exception of those who periodically commit violent acts. World peace is unlikely to ever occur as long as persons like yourself are unwilling to live among others based on their ancestry.
