I'm thinking of getting a vertical clitoral hood piercing... I've been hearing a lot about them lately, and I think it might just be that thing I'm looking for to spice up my sex life. But, I'm pretty nervous. I've read stories about botched piercings that have damaged the nerves in women's clitoris, or piercings that were crooked or improperly placed. Has anyone ever gotten this type of piercing? What kind of research should I do, and what kinds of questions should I ask the piercer?
Getting a hood piercing will not damage your clit (unless your piercing tech has really bad aim). In fact, the hood piercing is probably one of the easiest to manage. Mine was healed completely in about two weeks. It'll be a bit sensitive, and you aren't supposed to put pressure on it, so you'll need to wear dresses or loose pants without any underwear on for a day or two at least. But after a couple of days you can wear loose undies. Masturbation will be out for a few days as well as any sex from a position where your clit is pushed against a partner (but doggy style is okay). DON'T GET THE CLIT ITSELF PIERCED. It is possible to damage yourself by having that done.
The most important thing is to go to a reputable piercer (otherwise yeah, yo could end up with an improperly placed piercing). You live in USA, you may be able to go to one of the referrals of Elayne Angel (aka the piercing goddess). Here's a link: http://piercingbible.com/piercer-referrals You can also check out the site, it may learn something there, I did. I got a VCH (and other piercings as well) from one of her recommendations and had no problems. You should ask the piercer if he/she pierces with a needle receiving tube (not forceps!), and also check the material (titanium and stainless steel are the best). This piercing is quite easy, and heals in no time, like GBBlondie said. I wore undies immediately after getting it pierced with no problems, I guess it depends on anatomy.. Let us know how it goes!
Thank you, this is really helpful information, everyone . I don't think I'd be able to get a session with Elayne Angel, but I'll definitely ask about the needle receiving tubes. And I'm glad to know that it's easy to manage and quick to heal, lol.
