ok, I made a post a few months ago, but I need to know how long to wait between gauges right now I just have a regular earring, it's been the 8 weeks that I was supposed to wait before I can take it out. so can I go up to the next size now? and what is the next size? and how long after that can I go to the bigger size, 8 weeks again?

If you get a "dragon tooth" (looks like a long claw... small at one end, big at the other), you can go up a few sizes in a day.

The next size up from normal is 18g, then 16g, then 14g... etc. I did mine from a 14g to an 8g in very little time (about 5 or 10 minutes). Just how far you can go at once depends on your pain tolerance.

If you try and do it too quickly, or with painful or infected ears, you can end up ripping the skin, and causing bleeding. (This happened to me the first time). But if your holes are healthy, you should be able to go up to an 8g, or a 6g from regular size at one time, without any bleeding, and minimal pain.

Ok right ours are rated in Mil over here, 0.6 mil i think is the smallest, 2.6 is about the thickness of a belly bar. Mines on 6 mil. not too big not too small. Right my advice (and what i was told by the piercers) is go one size a month, any quicker doesnt give your skin enough time to adjust to the stretch and therefore can resault in ripping.

Ours are in millimeters diameter, so if you're 6mm then your hole has a diameter of 6mm. I'm on 8-10 (my ears naturally go a bit bigger than i stretch them, I can fit both but ive got an 8mm tunnel in). One guy I know went up from a normal size piercing to 14mm diameter, scary. I just kinda jumped up, using a cone to go to 5mm then covered my 8mm tunnels with ky jelly and jammed them in, no problems.

But I'm not sure, if you do it too hard or too fast your ear could rip and you should be stretching not ripping!!

tapers or talons. nothing acrylic. use stainless steel or titanium. no blackline.

i suggest only 1 size in a sitting. mine were done by squeezing a cbr 2 gauges up thru my hole. ow

If I decide to get them and then want to take them out again, will I be left with big fuck-off holes in my ears forever? Or will they gradually shrink again? And is it safe enough to do it myself or should I go to a piercer to get them done? I'd rather do them myself since I can't afford to get them done professionally. Umm.. had another question...... oh yeah, what about wearing other earrings? I have two holes in both ears, will it look really stupid havin gauges at the bottom and then other regular earrings above them? And one last thing, what kinda stuff should I use for cleaning them? I've been getting gradually thicker hoops for a while now, except every time I put them in my ear ends up all icky. Despite the fact that I'm cleaning the hoops and my ears before I do it. I've just been using salt and boiling water, is that ok?

Your holes will shrink back down. I'm not sure how big you can go before they won’t shrink, but... if you ask a piercer they could tell you. You can go to a piercer, and get the supplies to do it, but I’m not sure if they will do it for you. It would be best to at least talk to one.

And about your question with the multiple holes thing, well, I have three lobe in each ear, plus tragus and cartilage in one (rook soon), and an industrial bar and conch in the other, and I think it looks fine having my holes gauged. But the ones I have gauges are my third holes.

At some piercing studios, you can get this amazing stuff called Dragon Mist to clean with. It is so wonderful. And... You should "salt-soak" your piercings. Use one part sea-salt, to three parts water (if I remember correctly), and soak a cloth in it, and then hold it to your ear for 10 or 15 minutes a day. You should also clean them with Johnson's baby soap. Never use peroxide or rubbing alcohol to clean them!

or, use a shotglass for your salt soaks. boiling water is a bit too hot, just really, really hot tap water should do the trick.

for most people they'll shrink back to a 16 or so up until your at a 2. 2 is generally considered the point of no return. but, everyone's different. you can stretch at home, but don't pierce.
