Well, my kidneys are finally on the verge of packing it in. My doctor has suggested that it is time to start home dialysis - peritoneal dialysis. I live more than an hour away from the nearest clinic, so the home dialysis would be the best choice for me. So the reason I'm posting here, is that I am wondering if there is anyone here who may be in the same situation as me. It would be great to get some advice from someone's personal experience.

no advice yet-I don't know if that's good or bad but I do know I don't wish this on anybody. I'm not on the transplant list yet but hopefully that will happen in the near future. But I have started the procedure: I got a catheter surgically installed last Thursday and it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be. I guess I'll just keep on truckin along!

Oy. Catheters suck. Glad it's "better than it could be."

    You are in my thoughts.
