"Aren't all creatures big and small, two- or four legged, insignificant in the grand scheme of natures plan?" The little mouse sits on the sofa filled to the brim and warmed by company as well as fire as she realises all of value is open to assaults nature piles upon it. "Still, one cannot put ones life on hold for fear of storms to come or try to aspire more than one can/should be for fear of being forgotten. Sometimes one must succumb to what one wants, or wishes covets even and be the happier for it regardless of ones own insignificance."

("...certainly one of you best..." went the goblin appreciating the lines )

"...well, the server support forum does an advertise your forum thread, and I just wanted a site that was totally off my usual haunts, plus I knew the admin from elsewhere too, and the members did seem gifted, which about clinched it for me then..." replied the goblin honestly enough, adding "...well if everyone is this imaginative and articulate today, imagine what you amongst them be like in ten or twenty years time from now if you continued then...", somehow, for the goblin it wasn't ever what he posted nor what got posted neither that mattered much to him, no, more it was that persona that would result from the practice of posting and conversing that mattered to him now as he pushed ever onwards, saying "...you see, on forumland one isn't what has published elsewhere, nor what one posted yesterdays even, for who remembers even yesterday's posts, however, it's clear that one becomes the result of what one posts here, so the practice molds one's alter-ego within while the posting molds the poster into a persona, years pass and one becomes this then..."

it wasn't that the goblin was sometimes thoughtless, it was that the goblin was normally thoughtless and that sometimes the goblin saw just how thoughtless he actually was that shocked him now

"...ah, but when they learn that they have been used, their self esteem sinks further, and I would feel so cheap by it if I ever did that..." replied the goblin, adding "...no, it just seems the older one gets, the less one can casually do anything, as if youth was like "doing actions without noting context, nor having concern for their consequences", where middle age by comparison seemed such a prison of self placed mirrors, oh no, I don't miss my youth but I envy you your youthfulness..."

"...the fact that you tell us, simply shows you that in your heart its already over, and that your mind is just catching with some internal decision here..." said the goblin, adding "...also, while you are with wrong one, the right one won't approach if that person is smart, and it's cheap to hold onto someone just because someone better hasn't turned up yet, and lastly I imagine that you won't want to show the new one know how you will break off with the old one, which could be ugly, and could have the old one tell the new one some of those individual detractions that we all have...", somehow the death card in the tarot doesn't mean someone dying so much as a situation, which should be past, is living on here

"But isn't all subject to change?" The little mouse asks while she regards nature and its little creatures. "Humans are part of nature, not matter the fact the learned how to walk upright and talk, reason doesn't come naturally even if one is part of nature." Sipping her hot coffee she sees the slow realisation blooming on the face of the little one as he understands how what one wants isn't always what one needs and the change is made from discontent to acceptance. "Inevitably the brain catches up with the innermost self and things align again to bring peace and calm unto stormy sees of the inner turmoil."

("...have you seen how your post have evolved lately..." replied the goblin reading the mouse's every post now, saying "...funny to think that this forum is the one that we've all settled upon, yes I'll be here many years yet though I'll never step out of my anonymity, however, we will be known, promise, where these are early days still...")

"...ah the "partners past" are very persistent ghosts now, especially since they don't age..." mentioned the goblin who, when he recollects his past girlfriends, has to shrug his shoulders with some "couldn't be helped" or "it's so long ago now" comment, or any other ploy to get them to rest again, knowing that the line she wasn't right for me was probably sour grapes but still the best he could come up with though, as that too, often worked, till the next something or other in his present situation would come along to summon her back once more

repost from elsewhere, the "what are you doing" thread

the goblin was still working on it, knowing that, when he wasn't working on it, it was "working on him", saying "...no, whatever this life is about, it certainly doesn't want one to think for oneself here, ah no it wants you to accept the hamster wheel of your dailylife, with all its petty concerns and rewards, as what one's life is all about now...", the coffee kicked in at that point, so the goblin continued "...you know honestly, if I had just one thought that was really me to myself here, that thought alone would probably vindicate my existence to me far more than anything that dailylife could ever offer me in place of myself within it, just my values, not its then..."

repost from elsewhere "...isn't it good that this forumland acts as your friend here, I mean just think of those millions of people still out there who live their lives of wendy who don't know forumland at all, whereas we can live lives of ageless peter pans now, ah no, no lonely old age home being parked in front of the television for those who know their way about forumland here, so I choose to be an ageless faceless unknown myself, and how about you then, do you still want to be some known author instead, just another wendy perhaps..." ventured the goblin to his friends once more [IMG] 59

repost from elsewhere, just something written during some event in the now past and how the goblin reacted to it at the time

"...morning..." said the goblin ominous about the email he had received from his father saying "mum was in no distress faintly smiling but she seemed to be letting go", so the goblin had phoned back offering assistance and reassurance but between them there was only that "wait and see" and either way they both knew that the time would hang over them until the tide either turned or just engulfed, and somehow, from his sitting room window, the silent cold gray cloudy morning all seemed so appropriate to the occasion where the goblin would once more type out his feelings to a slot here, "...the pact goes honesty, a shared life and a thick skin..." said the muse near him now always wanting her debt paid "...goblin, you owe it and you know it..." she prompted again, "...well muse, I thought first we'll throw away the empty plastic bottles in the bottle bank, and then we could visit the bistro after that then..." replied the goblin as if ducking it till later, "...whenever you wish goblin, I'm always waiting..." she smiled knowing that the post would all just grow inside him anyway, for somehow the muse was mad, mercurial, deep, and very demanding, yes but she was never shallow nor cheap towards the goblin here, not like the rest of his dailylife it seemed, just that she the was both there and not there too

the goblin loved replies, somehow the goblin knew that he would rather lose to others than win by himself, besides someone's quote had just plunged the goblin's mind back into the life of seneca again who, under the instructions of agrippina, had taught her son nero how to play the part of emperor and thus usurp the place of britainicus as rightful emperor after agrippina's own husband the emperor claudius that is, "...ah yes, those famous letters seneca wrote as nero's teacher, now there was a smart mind of ever there was one..." mused the goblin adding "...mind you, some will say that they all got what they deserved in the end, I mean agrippiana then poisoned claudius only to have her son nero kill both britainicus, seneca, and herself later..." remembered the goblin at it as he thought again upon seneca's famous quote misfortune is the chance to show character, "...well perhaps not if one get bumped off in the process, forget character then, choose cunning instead..." concluded the goblin now

repost from elsewhere, the "what are you doing" thread

the goblin was waiting for some gust of imagination to carry him off again, no, not that he disliked his dailylife at all, just that it was so thankfully limited to that same old known reality each time, in fact, it almost seemed a strange truth now, so much so, that the goblin suddenly laughed at himself saying "...it's funny the way one just yearns for all these silly distractions only to regret that one's life has then passed by in doing them..." but even now the goblin just waited upon his imagination for the next all enthralling daydream "...oh no, not yet another daydreaming mind in AWOL..." came the voice from the heavenly clouds above but by then it seemed the goblin was miles away

the goblin was thinking about the fates of james dean and marlon brando, and seeing them as people caught between a scylla of death and a charybdis of old age, saying "...just to have one survive only seemed to underline the tragedy more where had they both shared the same fate it wouldn't have seemed so tragic...", so the tragedy needed some fortunate occurrence to run along side it to make it feel all that more poignant, like a silver lining perhaps that makes the rain cloud look darker still

the goblin was biting a lip that wouldn't quite admit a truth here, saying "...being anonymous, it really shouldn't matter what happens to my posts, the "last post" threads, or even the sites for that matter, and yet I find myself, time and again, caring for things beyond my control, either seeking some shallow recognition or some cheap reward here...", it was as if those words I have avenged you but you have married another fitted the goblin's emotion at this point, so anonymous didn't really equate to impervious where just perhaps the goblin was more human than he cared to admit here

("...you're more than welcome to post here too, you're as much a livewriter as I am, so join in or borrow the thread to for you're rapport with thedope..." replied the goblin confessing that his posts here were all editing from way back, but that those posts on the other threads in this section were fresh but raw, adding "...btw I love the rapport between you and thedope, I've been following that form the beginning though at some point it might be a good idea to repost some of the better ones again to another forum if only because they're good and the reposting polishes them into something more you to yourself...")

repost from elsewhere, another moment in the past

"about a year" were the exact words, remembered the goblin thinking of his father now, knowing they wouldn't talk about it again, besides, talking wouldn't change anything they knew, so the goblin was pensive at this point, saying "...no doubt, after he's gone I will ask myself why I hadn't phoned more often, done more than just "being there at the other end of the phone", but I will also know the truth, that I couldn't have asked him in his decline how he was getting on for fear of being misunderstood...", so the goblin's role was to listen and to be supportive during this last send off period, and yet it was as if both of them had run out of things to say to each another even if they still wanted to say something to show they were listening, but whatever one voiced, and how often too, the words just tailed off into the silence once more

oh the usual stuff, the UFO had landed of course, and one of the aliens standing around had calmly asked the goblin why those female aliens always seemed to spend so much time in the restroom, and if it was ok to light up while waiting for them now, "...go ahead and smoke, so then do you visit earth often..." replied the goblin, not really liking the smoke but still admiring their spacecraft, "...why yes goblin, earth's just one of those great intergalactic tourist destinations isn't it, just human nature at its very best, that rat race on a sinking titanic of massive debt with runaway climate change, well that's what it is like when you see it from outer space like this, but then on the grand scale of things what would anyone expect from primitive creatures barely out of the stone age now, I mean what's a couple thousand of their earth years against those lightyears needed to travel anywhere in space today...", by now the females with the young ones had turned up, and somehow the goblin, seeing the evident disappointment on the parents faces, guessed the rest even without knowing what they were saying amongst themselves, hearing something like "...what, no way, look, we didn't come all this way just to go to mcdonalds, we've got plenty of them at home too...", yes, some things just seemed so universally universal these days

repost from elsewhere, someone who asked

and with that the goblin just laughed, saying "...for surely a writer just writes and that's an end to it, and although one learns from others lots of tricks and traits, one should never compromise oneself for the sake of some possible readership elsewhere, lose that and you lose all as they say....", where the goblin just continued "...look, the publishing world often rigs things that one becomes some "front page best seller" one year, only to be forgotten a year later, so forumland, by comparison, is just a level playingfield between us, where your readers are on-line with you, with direct feedback too, and where one can probe one's critics, flatten one's trolls, and thank those who appreciate you...", in fact, the goblin seriously believed in forumland's future now, seeing it as a growing readership for livewriters, saying "...so perhaps the real battle for readership is here today, as you yourself are probably reading this post aware that you don't have the time to read a whole book, yet still you want something quick to read and reflect upon, and then to reply to too, leading to the second conjecture that books generate little rapport..."

repost from elsewhere, a thought at the time then

the goblin wondered what the US had to give to get their two reporters released by north korea to bill clinton, feeling it to be a good thing in itself, yes, but something smacked of as more "staged" rather than mere coincidence now, "...guess we'll never know for sure then..." mentioned the goblin at it, adding "...but it's tempting to think that, if not exactly staged, it was convenient for all parties concerned, and that even, hostage taking remains both as lucrative, and as good for show business too, as it has always has been..."

the goblin was slowly absorbing the gist of the text written on a fair sized tin of rat poison he was holding, something like warning, contains a very slow acting poison that works rather like your dailylife does. save that it's both cheaper and less bother, thank you for reading this, and have a nice day human, yours sincerely, the resident rodent, "...so that rat is on to a good thing then, right, the kettle has boiled so where's my coffee jar..." voiced the goblin aloud to himself over his laptop this breakfast time, "...actually, it's the same tin goblin..." came the small voice from a crack in the wall
