so, I bought 40 acres near humboldt sink in nevada and was going to work a couple of years to save for life on the land. problem is i want out of corporate america. i want to let go, and move with the current. i dont want to do this as a temporary life but to make it permanent and therefore some preparation/planning needs to be done. personality wise im getting into spirit science (pineal gland type stuff (plan to try the Ayahuasca medicine)), 420 of course, recently improved my diet (vegetarian now (i eat the same food each day 2 bananas cooked in coconut oil drizzled with cinnamon and honey and homemade pasta with durum wheat semolina and water only, topped with an organic tomato sauce). some other interests would include, to start natural beekeeping, build a community off road electric vehicle for exploring and just generally being able to survive on just the basics but be comfortable while doing it. i have been working on this plan whether intentional or not now for a couple years and am testing the waters to see if i have done enough yet to see if a commune can be started from scratch with the help of each participant. here is what i can bring to the table land- (paid in full and taxes only 35 bucks a year) water- i know the city of lovelock a half hour away can be bought for 20 bucks per 1000 gallons or well dug on site without permit. Also humboldt sink 5 to 10 min away. food/growing- i have 23 pieces of 2X4 tempered glass along with a few homemade led grow lights (can build more easily) for indoor growing in addition to plenty of space for outdoors energy- I have built a stator and 2 rotors for a windmill which should give 1.5 KWH).would still need a few parts i.e. controller, inverter and battery bank (can convert old acid car batteries to alkaline very cheaply) extra items not mentioned above- ultimaker 3d printer to print designs/parts, full apartment of furniture, a cat and loving positive attitude. if the time is now to start, the community will tell me. anyone interested in the journey?
Your attitude, plans and philosophy seem right on. Do you have any photos of the property?? As in all situations like this it sounds like WATER is your weak link...how many road miles to Lovelock's water for sale is it?? Conditions of road in and out of your property? And from the map just how close to those interstates are you?? Best of luck mike
Yep....totally interested ! From Illinois so if have a little bit of a journey in front of me to get out there. I see nothing has been added since April so before I do anything I'd like for you to let me know if this is still happening. Looking forward to hearing from you and hopefully making the journey out.
