ha.... first and last black president, and fucking traitor. I put myself on the line in many discussions for obama (the first time, before he showed what a piece of shit he is) and he made me look like a chump. Better than mccain, yes.... pretty fuckin' bad? very much so. I look forward to a brown president.
Man, woman, white, black, brown... people that get into a position of power such as being a President seem to be power hungry douches in the end.
I´m making my house a better place and if I ever get done with that I might start making the street a better place.
I gave up a long time ago...very few people really want the world to be a better place. I think its better to focus your energy on leaving some kind of legacy for others to remember long after you are gone so you wouldn't be forgotten. And it doesn't have to be about making the world a better place.
I don't see the point of leaving 'some kind of legacy for others to remember' if it isn't about making a potential difference for the better. This also includes legacies like aestetic pleasing stuff to me since they impact the people who watch it, and can even include monetary funds for a certain purpose. So what kind of legacy are you thinking about there?
It could be anything from writing a book about your own life, a business, a work of art , money. If just 1 person remembers YOU for it, so be it. My point is , there is no need to have 'making the world a better place' as your goal. Rather, expressing yourself and leaving your own footprint in this world of 7 billion people even if only a few remember you. That probably didn't make sense. :2thumbsup:
I can make sense of it by looking for it between the lines But yeah, the writings of certain people in the past have proven to be useful and interesting today so it could just be regarded as another form of making a potential impact. Even if the motive might be merely to be remembered yourself (kind of a pathetic motive from my point of view but hey, i think it's great people write stuff down and expressing themselves). What would be really sad though is just because the majority keeps on polluting and you may be in a spot in the world where it seems extremely hopeless regarding such matters you would give in and go with the flow. If no one gave a good example I probably would not even say stuff like this to other people
Well not just doing anything for the sake of being remembered but it also should be your passion. It should come from within you. But if you're just doing something for the sake of making the world a better place, I think its naive unless you are a head of state or hold an influential position society and vast resources which even then would be very challenging to make any kind of tangible change. That in anyway doesn't mean you should pollute and make things worse. Just don't expect the world to change and be like you.
I think it lies in the details wether it is naive or not. Expectations can be out of proportion but that does not make the action or (perhaps a bit naive) thought not a potential difference for the better. Naivity in this case is not so bad I think but yes, naivity as well can be out of proportion.
