how do i deal with this

This asshole is doing construction work since 3am. Hammering and sawing away. never mind that my roommate has to be up at 8am and me at 9am but doesn't matter i can't sleep anyway.

I tried knocking on the door and all i heard from inside was "someones knocking at the door" so i left a polite note on the door.

Anyone have any good advice on how handle this. I'm about ready to start drinking or try out my new 5lb hammer on his head or windows. Nether do i really want to do just sleep.

Confront them or make a noise complaint

 

I wear ear plugs when I road trip or around guys that snore but they make my tinnitus ping really loud. Try sleeping with some white noise or heavy rain drop sounds.

When people complain they cannot sleep because something kept them awake I think how I cannot sleep just because and then I shudder at what I would have to hear about if they had my problem.

 

I don't know what it's like where you live, but where I live, there's legislation about this kind of shit. It's a bit more difficult when the perpetrator's the owner of said apartment, but if he's a tenant, if addressing the source of the problem directly doesn't yield the desirable results, you can file a complaint towards the party he's renting the place from, as, at least where I live, they're legally responsible for any nuisances caused by people renting. Maybe there's mediating agencies in your area, and if worse comes to worse, I suppose you could always just call the cops, because you're entitled to a degree of peace and quiet at night, and that's what people do with rowdy idiot neighbors.

those plugs dont even work with all the banging and sawing they are doing 5 feet from my where my bed is.

 

These days it is like letters to the editor or writing in a complaint is the best that we can do, c'mon.

if i didn't have other neighbors and a roommate i think id build a stage and practice with my 100w amp outside with the bass or maybe buy guitar since i definitely dont know how to play that and make some real racket.
