    well there is patriotism.
"hey bro, you can do it....Yeah....yeeeeeah.....yeeeeee-ha" (sporting event win)

    then there is patriotism.
"You are either with us or against us.”
"America -- love it or leave it."
"If you don't like what's going on, instead of raising your voice to point out any injustices, just shut up, so that the rest of us don't have to hear about it!"

the first is constructive patriotism. it celebrates achievment.

the second is called "blind patriotism" and creates fear, agression, and division. its an excape from the requirements of "thinking"

you can say a quote like "love it or, leave it" in an argument without needing to argue with any fact.

if someone says somthing you don't like then you just say "love it or leave it" and the argument is over....

this patriotism can be used to load one side (within the country) against another side (within the country).

I.E. bush used patriotism to attack "liberals" and anyone who didn't support the war.

rather than being able to speak up and complain about the war, people were subjected to anti-patriotical BS. this making it hard to have open democratic debate.

some patriotism is great. other patriotism is misguided and dangerous.
100,000 iraqis have died because of misguided patriotism.

Everyone takes the 'with us or against us' quote so out of context. It referred only to terrorism.

What he said just before the "either you're with us or against is" is... "Over time it's going to be important for nations to know they will be held accountable for inactivity."

it's arrogant, of course, telling other nations what they must do.

Thats not patriotism. There is, of course, a difference between supporting the troops and the war. I hope all americans support the troops, whether the war is right or wrong. Supporting the war is a whole other can of worms. Bush can say peopel arent patriotic for not supporting the war..but that doesnt make it true..and thats not patriotism and thats not patriotic what he's doing.

the patriotism i was talking about, of course, is things like "the all blacks kick ass!" "Woohoo, first female suffrage!" or "first man on the moon!' Those are national achievements to be proud of...

i'm sure its true.."blue states" = rich states

although, i do find the whole idea of 'blue states' and 'red states' kinda funny...most states were won by only a few percentage points or less...so its kinda wrong to say they are 'blue states' and 'red states' since most states have about equal number of democrats and republicans..

Bush is an evil cocksucker who is destroying my country. A filthy rich, priviledged spoiled brat sociopath who brags and jokes about how many people he has killed. Clearly, this creature is not human, by my standards of human decency.

The lesson here? Never trust a white American Christian. Ever! Under any circumstances. Never, never, never. The Christians in the States are the most bigoted, violent, psychotic, ignorant phony liars I've ever seen in my life. And they love to voyeuristically shove their religion down other people's throats. I can't tell you how many times I've been fucked over in one way or another by Americans who claim to believe in the Bible.

The state of Utah, a religion-owned state (80% Mormon), leads the country in telemarketing scams and consumer fraud. And anti-depressant use.

    LOL

ignorant and naive are the two most popular words to use to try to win a debate on the net.

pity i think they ruin any argument nomatter what side you are on (if i agree with the person and they use those words i still think they are missing somthing)

    but oh well.

lol we played our fair share of Melrose Place Barbie...only we didn't have a ken so we cut the hair off the ugly barbie and made her wear a suit and be a man...i was a charming child.

and as for puppet sex - it's not that wooden toys bonking isn't normal - it just isn't what you'd normally expect to see in a thread about osama. :)
