I have photos on a cd and they´re way too big. If I wanna look at them, I have to scroll right, down ... . How do I get them smaller?????

You have to open the pictures with program which is able to resize the pictures to screen size.
I recommend IrfanView, it's small, easy to use and free. Just set in view options "fit images to screen".

That Irfan-thing got me to a page that I couldn´t get rid of.
Thanks for trying to help, but that really didn´t work out.
I guess I´ll have to find another method to get these pics smaller.

I think this is the easiest solution available. Go to this site

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

download the "Image Resizer" powertoy. Here is the full url

    http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe

once you've downloaded that you should see the option to resize images whenever you right click on an image. It will also resize several images at once. I've been using this for a while and it works fine.

If you ever need anything more powerful, to do color correction or image manipulation, try out the GIMP. GNU Image Manipulation Program is a free, open source image manipulation tool. They've started making it for windows & the mac. I'm still getting used to it, but it can do just about everything I ever used photoshop for.

Adobe Photoshop is the daddy of all, but expensive.

I don't think that it is necessary to suggest for her to use tools such as Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro just to resize a picture. There was a much simpler solution posted above. Programs such as photoshop and psp are image editing programs which cost money and do a hundred different things aside from resizing images. No need for overkill.
