One of my female friends wears this perfume -- she says it's called Love by Chole -- that literally drives me crazy. Needless to say I am very attracted to this girl, so I am not sure it's the perfume alone, or the perfume mixed with her body chemistry, but I have never smelled anything in my life that has such an effect on me.

Are any of you ladies familiar with this perfume?

Guys... does a woman's perfume have an effect on you?

I used to be able to. Thanks to 20 years of smoking - not so much. *cough*
Although, some of the stronger fragances I can still notice. Generally they seem to be worn by older women. I'm not attracted to older women - no matter what they smell like.

Some do and some are over bearingly to strong. I think you should have to get close to a woman to smell her. Her perfume shouldn't lingere in a room long after she has left.

I think some women wear strong perfume to cover the smell of their monthly cycle. I certainly noticed that when I was at school. For some reason all the girls smelled of pea soup at various point within the month.:ack2:

I know that one, it's really good. I wanted to buy it but then I found one that I like better. It seems to have that effect on people too.

Not sure of that one but I know most perfume is too fruity smelling (or artificially fruity) and strong for me, irritates the nose. I prefer a more natural smell but it is also probably how the girl chooses to wear it too as many seem to bathe in the perfume.

My sister and I use that stuff, and I've gotten lots of compliments. It's really strong so only need a small amount, and it lasts a while too so it's got a thumbs up from me!

Oh yeah, I can be intoxicated by a great and subtile perfume but only at first instance. It can add to the attractiveness of her for a long time for sure but only if I'm attracted to her by other things than her perfume. So for me personally it is easy to conclude if it's mainly the perfume or not.

a perfume can smell good, but it doesn't have anything to do with attraction for me unless it's being worn by someone i'm already attracted to. but once i get used to smelling it on such a person, it does add to anyone else's appeal who wears it.

Yeah it does. I'm not entirely sure how it all works tho.

For instance I was buying a girl a new perfume. I had my initial ideas, but the store were determined to convince me of xyz instead. And its the choice between a) sniffing an old birds hand. b)making my own hand smell like a girl/gay or c)sniffing the paper strips which give a rubbish indicator.

Anyway, I knew straight away which one I wanted. And later on, I confirmed with the girl that it was the one she wouldve chosen off the "shortlist" Id done.

Unconnectedly, the next girl I dated after that, this was her own favourite scent at the time. So I wonder, are we attracted to the name, the scent, the branding, or something connecting us and the scent. Apparently "scent" is part of our test of "mating compatibility" at a subsconscious level.

If Im out and see some hot girls and smell their perfume, that sort of wakes me up for the night out. Whereas if I see ugly girls I think "wow, do they soak their clothes in it"..

The other part of it all is that we all have our own scent. THis is genetic, ethnic, what we eat, our environment and lifestyle too.

I like scents to have a subtlety too. I think its ridiculous when people(men especially) have this giant smell. You wonder "are they an alcoholic"..
My view is that its a very "male-female" thing. I dont understand why a guy would wear a scent around other men etc.
