Starting My Dreads This Weekend !

After joining this forum over a year ago, doing some research and thinking seriously I've decided I'm ready to dread it up !

This weekend after a few weeks of a weaning my hair off of conditioner, and just using a good shampoo, I'm going to start backcombing my dreads in, a few locks at a time

Can anyone link me to the best tutorial vid they know of? I've seen a couple of vids on youtube but all are slighyly different!

I don't know of any videos but i think it's pretty difficult to get it 'wrong'. just watch a few videos and give it a go and use whatever feels most comfortable/effective :)

All you have to do if you want to backcomb is take a fine tooth comb and twist as you are combing upwards towards the roots. I personally wouldn't go the backcomb route as it damages hair quite easily. The best way is to go natural but I went with twist and rip and it was a bit easier for me.

    Backcomb, then don't touch them.
Keep them clean so they lock faster, and don't touch them.
No need to crochet, don't touch them.
    Wait, and don't touch them.
Pull them apart in case they decided to become one, then don't touch them.
Wait, wait, and wait some more, and don't touch them.
Don't think about it, don't touch them.

Yea but personally I'd wait at least a month before putting 'em in or else it might hinder the rate that they dread
