Well idk how bad I'm screwed yet but this is my first pot charge in this state...but my second driving suspended in a few months. The lawyer wants 2 grand and courts next week and I'm flat broke. I'm an idiot for driving but my wife was stoned and it was dark and she sucks at driving so I kinda had to... Then my dumb ass says the weed is mine when it was sitting at her feet altho she's got no priors at all. Fml if I don't do time for this I'll be shocked. Funny how not doing anything morally wrong can still be illegal =/ Only thing that might help is the cop pulled me for a "broken taillight" when it was working just fine... Thoughts? Probably back to lawyer bills and piss tests real soon God damn it I wish I had some bud so the pain of this reality would be bearable. Can't stop thinking about running away or suicide it's like I can never live free and what life is it to be under the microscope of these pigs. I want to rewind this whole year already what a fuckin mess. Anyone want to buy a sailboat and come live in the islands so I can buy my freedom?
No matter if you can prove that the cop lied about pulling you over. The fact that drugs were found in the car will negate the cop's lie.
sucks man. why's your license suspended in the first place? should only break one law at a time... does one generally go to jail for driving suspended? how much weed did you "allegedly" have? you can't really let your woman take the fall though, so you were in a predicament. depending on the state and amount, you may just have simple possession there? it sucks that we can't smoke weed freely, sure. but it's no reason to kill yourself! man up. and start saving money. why are most people my age broke?
You're 29 man, got to grow up a bit. Why on earth would you drive on a suspended license? You are asking for trouble
Cops lie all the time. What probably happened was he thought to himself "I wonder what's in that car" so he found his "probable cause". What you should have done was hide the stash and refuse a search. Even if the pot was found then you would not be any worse off then you are now. Of course the cop would say you would be, but cops do not determine a sentence a judge does. In court a cop will always be credible. He is the upstanding enforcer of the law, you are the criminal and cops know this. But you are a good guy for not throwing your lady under the bus.
A good guy for taking the blame I agree, but sorry to also say it, you're stupid to drive on a suspended licence. Doing stuff like that, doesn't matter if your licence was taken righteously or not, gets you into situations like this.
Stupid don't even come close. I thought like this : my wife is disabled(brain cancer survivor) I have to drive for safety reasons. I am a very.very good driver. She has the bag and if we are stopped they can't search passenger. I was 2 blocks from home. I risked it like a dumbass. Well just dropped 750 on a lawyer and I'll never see the inside of a courtroom over this mess but I owe her another thousand, she thinks they will drop it all cause of the taillight BS and also they did not marandize so it will now be decided slowly over the next few months while It bleeds me of 250 a month.
