of course. that is how it is on the media...
it is rather sad but honestly everytime i walked by my parents room, i could hear the tv on and they were talking about the tsunami...but it was more"this could happen anytime anywhere and here is why" kinda thing...
it is rather sad that our society only cares about our society unless of course we can try to wage war on someone.

whoever cannot see that the media obviously plays on fear is blind... i watched FOX (gasp!) to try to get some info on the quake and all they were asking the scientists... "what are the possibilities of this happening on the west coast or the caribbean and how prepared would we be for it?"

like, how is anyone supposed to know that? and why are they asking questions about us when there are millions of people affected on the other side of the world. god this makes me feel shitty... :(

omg thats sick...seriosuly, over here (australia) we are getting lots of coverage (like when 911 happened)....it is making me so sad, those poor families
chrsitmas has been horrible this year.

American media really rates Americans as the most important and that kind of attitude makes me want to vomit.

online news is the way to go... on the TV there are way too many "commentators" and not enough anchors. you'd wonder why they call them two different things.

well once they find an american body, which i'm sure they will because this had to affect people of almost any nationality, i'm sure all the news channels will have tributes to that one guy... not that anything's wrong with paying tribute to someone lost, but it's the fact that the media upholds anyone and anything american before anyone else...

I dont hate America. I proudly wear The uniform of a United States Sailor. I am a sarcastic son of a bitch sometimes, and I dont agree with everything my government does for me or for themselves, but I am still happy I was born here.
