As in federal/state taxes. Yes, this is an entirely inappropriate question to ask almost anybody, but you're all strangers here. What % of your income does that equate to? I recently did our family's taxes, and it got me curious.

Since I am not paranoid I will admit here that I evade taxes.

Wait... are you a tax collector?

Well, I paid in about $3,300 and got back $1,700 of that. So approx. $1,600 as far as federal taxes were concerned. State taxes I couldn't tell you off the top of my head because we pay an 8.25% sales tax on non-grocery items. I like the sales tax, it's like getting to slowly pay off the state taxes, one purchase at a time.

You mean we have to pay taxes? When did this start?

they do that here too...a self employed person can never collect unemployment but they still force us to pay into it...so we're paying for these shithead lazyasses who work the bare minimum weeks and then get laid off and collect cash for doing nothing

I can't remember how much I paid but I qualified for the earned income credit and child tax credit so I'm getting like 5500 back. I'm stoked, I've never come close to that amount before. Thanks gubbament

I hate hate hate those deductions. So because you had a kid, who will then in turn probably use more resources that are paid for by our taxes, you get $ back for it? Fucking madness.

I haven't filed my taxes yet...I'm afraid to. I'm probably going to owe in AGAIN.

But, I paid out around $3,800 fed and $1,000 state. On my father's estate, though, they took $15,500 out in taxes and penalties.

It makes absolutely no sense. I guess the logic is that it will give families more disposable income to help the US economy by buying cheap chinese goods.

I forget what the percentage is, but I paid over somewhere around $3500, I need to file my taxes, they're done. I just need to click the button and get some money.

I paid about 15 dollars and got like $1,000 back. You don't have to pay much when you have virtually no income.

I paid $11k and didn't get shit back. Being a single white male with no kids is basically the worst demographic. I think I need to have a few kids soon.
