Diffuser beads - Worth it or not?

I recently read about diffuser beads online.

Do they make a big difference to the smoothness of your smoke?

Can you use plastic BB's?

Can you use little water absorbant pellets?

Do you put them right in the water or something?

 

absolutely NOT worth it!!!!! they're just glass marbles, go to a hobby shop and get normal clear marbles for the EXACT same experience at a WAAAAAY cheaper price.

They charge like 15-20 dollars for like a medium to small bag full of ordinary marbles and call them "diffuser beads". I was fooled into buying these then realized what I just told you.

PS. they work differently in different bongs and with different down stems. some (bongs/down stems) they work great but others are incompatible and can be clogged up by normal diffuser beads/marbles. I would think plastic BBs would float and those water absorbent marbles seem like they're worth a try if they're cheap.

I'm going to try those water absorbant 'marbles' tomorrow, and I'll let you guys know.

UPDATE: I bought the 'water babies' and put them in water, have to leave them in it overnight. Will update soon.

The water babies got big overnight, and it was definitely a smoother smoke.

It's worth a try, since water babies are like 1$ for 2 packs (a bong takes about a quarter pack)
