no the last time we talked I was doing my intern work for a masters in family therapy and psych-I was working at a mental health ward...I think. I am done with a psych major and this may I'll have a second BA in liberal arts.

Okay then, but Affirmative Action DOES NOT DISTINGUISH between a black kid from the inner city and a black kid from a well-to-do family of means and education. The kid puts "black" on the application, and suddenly he gets the college acceptance over a white kid with equal application credentials.

once again in this thread im laying th stupid "my black friend card", but i do have black friends that are older and wise and gave me there viewpoints and though they think affirmative action is a good concept.. it should be REFORMED. they dont wanna even be a part of what it is today cause it can be a reverse discrimination.

you know? i grew up with nothing... absoltuly nothing. i got a new pair of shoes every three years.. know what i did when i did to go to school? i signed up for a community college.. there you can bring your grades up and go.

im not against affirmative action but not totally for it either.

I know you all will think of this kind of sad, but peaceful jeffrey was the only one with some good arguments on his behalf.

racism has been worn out in this country, and it has to do with alot of people just prolonging the issue. slavery has been long gone for decades, and black people still act as if they are being mistreated, and they seem to use the whole slave issue as a crutch. I, for one, wasnt around the time of slavery, never owned a whip or a slave, never burned crosses in front of a black person's house, never set dogs to attack some black folks, never hit black folks with a firehose, or made black people sleep in separate hotels, attend different schools, sit in the back of a bus, or drink out of separate water fountain. none of that, YET black people assume that Im racist or have racist tendencies because Im white. just because of things my ancestors (could have) done. that is reverse racism right there. Just because I dont like someone, its because I dont like whats on the inside. colour doesnt matter to me. but when I get in an argument with a black person, they usually pull the race card issue out as their only argument. they usually say "Its all because Im black, isnt it?" they fail to look at the truth, that they are totall assholes on the inside. another thing is that some black people treat you as your brother, hang with you, bullshit with you, shoot the breeze, whatnot, but when they get with their homey's they treat you like they dont even know you. I first found that out in college. once you get a bunch of black folks together, you mean nothing, because you arent like them. you are pushed aside because you dont know what its like to be black. how ridiculous is that??? just because Im not black, I dont have feelings?? I dont know what its like to be hurt??? I dont know what its like to be left out??

the whole affirmative action thing is bullshit too. you are discriminating against white folks, just because of the colour of the skin. a black person will be accepted before a white because they have to fill the quota. and this white person could have better credentials and better qualified.

like I stated before, the whole race issue is a crutch. most blacks would rather sell drugs than get an education and get a real job. and most of the time they say its because they are persecuted against for being black. well, maybe if they try to make something of themselves other than a pimp or a crack dealer. same thing goes with whites too. I know of alot of white drug dealers that do the same thing...... its all about racism. racism will never leave if people dont let it drop. yes, there are racists out there, but those people make it obvious with their confederate flags on their pickup trucks. other claims of racism are just dumbfounded, and trying to protect themselves or ego boosting for themselves. usually people are fired or not hired for other reasons, like being lazy or having no work ethic, not because they are black.


everything I said up above does not speak for all blacks, or all whites though. so dont treat it as such. I do have alot of black friends.

The first thing i read that peacefuljeffrey wrote in Miss F's thread about racism was not rasict. Infact his point at the beggining was about how she was being rasict for always trying to make things a black and white thing(making threads about "white people" ), and in fact that she had this wall up, that was why she always felt racism.

What was said in posts later though was probaly out of line, i dont know because i stopped reading bullshit.
