Do you keep a clean house?

Growing up, my mom was really anal about keeping her house spotless. She was never lazy about it. I didn't often have to clean, but I grew accustom to living in neat and tidy living areas.

Ive always been really disorganized. In college my dorm was always chaotic. I've never been able to keep my closets organized. Mostly clothes just lay on the floor.

With that said, I hate hate hate a dirty house. My husband likes a clean house, but he contributes almost nothing to keep it clean. He has gotten slightly better.

All I want to do is mop my floors, clean my windows, and re-scrub my walls, which I washed less than three months ago. Of course, my day does not allow for such luxuries.

Anyways, I like a clean house. I hate being in other people's dirty houses, and I feel competitive with my mom and grandma about whose house is more kept. Also, I hate eating or drinking at somebody's house when it's clearly a dirty house. I gag.

I'll try and direct this back to the original question now. Do you keep your house, apartment, living space clean?

I guess I should mention that my car never is clean. I dont understand myself.

 

hahah alive stuff is better cause it evolves. But things just get dirty, houses should naturally get cleaner with time. Or we should live in the forest.

 

My mom was a hoarder of things and pets so I lived in a very cluttered environment after she left my step dad and married another hoarder. When I grew up and lived out on my own, I decided to not live her lifestyle. I have homemakers who clean my house daily so it is usually clean. Before I became disabled I kept a tidy house.

 

it's pretty clean. there's a few spots where clutter tends to collect, but not too much.

my car is generally a mess too.

 

Tidy house, tidy mind!! I think this is pretty true for me

 

I was a slob growing up but in my early twenties I was in a bad relationship and I started compulsively cleaning every time we had a fight. I guess it was a way to control my environment. It's a little ocd . So something in my brain just flipped and ever since then I cannot stand a mess. It literally makes me crazy. I've been feeling crazy ever since I had a baby because I can't stay on top of house work.

But my car is really messy too haha. I don't know what that's all about.

 

Spotless

 

It'll be spic and span when I have company, but other than that it'll generally stay a little cluttered. It's easier for me to find things. disorderly organized I guess.

 

I like to keep a clean house...we're having a hard time with this house since its filled with my family's crap and I don't know where to put any of it.

I'm an anti-hoarder. I get a high throwing things out.

 

I have always been pretty clean. I have never owned a lot, so keeping my house clean has been pretty easy. I have always lived, where if i have to move, i can be out that day like i was never there. Course i get behind from being at work and sometimes my place gets messy.

My mom told me at a young age that i need to keep these 3 areas clean for the girls, the rest of the house can look dirty, but if those places are clean, you are golden.

It was awesome advice as a kid because i was into girls way before puberty...haha

The toilet and sink that you use must be shining.
No dishes should be out unless they are being used, or drying from being cleaned.
Make your bed, and don't rush, it only takes 60 seconds.

It works i tell ya! People walk into my living room, stuff everywhere, car tires inside, speaker wires everywhere, house a mess, a box of gun shells, 60 cds on a table...lol fuck shit is everywhere

but the sink is clean, so is the toilet, and my bed is ready. :love:

 

I am clean. I HATE a messy, dirty kitchen most of all. It makes me feel ill. I also hate crap all over the floor. My partner is messy and I am trying to learn to relax...

That said tho... a happy healthy balance works well. It's always been a back and forth for me. I like clean and always have a small tolerance for things when they get unclean, but, alas, clutter is a way of life for me.

And its odd cause i've heard this reference a few times in life recently... funny how i've been on a house/possessions clean up binge lately.

 

I try to keep the house clean, my bedroom however is a different story.

 

Chaos. I don't mind clean house, but cleaning it is a waste of time. I basically put everything everywhere and since I live alone I know where things are and never have to search for them. I like it this way.

 

Fucking spotless. I have a partner for doing the cleaning stuff He's a fucking whizz with the mop!

 

I like a clean house and to maintain it myself too. The problem is the smaller the place you have is, the more you have to move around when you clean. So yeah, I could definately have a cleaner house but it's not too bad if I say so myself

 

Not clean. My place is usually a mess, but not to the point where it can't be decently clean within a few minutes if I have a lady friend come over.

 

my house is always always clean! I have cats too and when ppl come over they're surprised at a single guy being so clean!

I hate a messy house. Bugs me.

 

I keep a clean house around here somewhere.... Maybe it's under the pile of stuff in the living room...
