Yeah, Discipline ain't that bad. Elephant Talk has a good groove, Disclipine is good and Thela Hun Ginjeet just sounds cool
Was never a fan of them- maybe a bit heavy for me at the time but many members of the original band went on to other pretty big bands : Greg Lake to Emerson, Lake & Palmer; Boz Burrell to Bad Company , and a few others that I cant remember This was a time when album cover art was great!!!- and they did have a few beauties
Favorite album 'In The Court Of The Crimson King' Favorite song 'Epitaph' ". . .Confusion will be my epitaph. As I crawl a cracked and broken path If we make it we can all sit back and laugh. But I fear tomorrow I'll be crying, Yes I fear tomorrow I'll be crying. . ."
good call. Epitaph is my favourite song too. ITCOFCK is my favourite album then Red, Discipline and Islands. :2thumbsup:
Right now I would have to say Lark's Tongues, but The Court of the Crimson King was an album that blew my mind when I first heard it a few years ago. It was on vinyl and the same record player and collection that I first heard Yes on (my dad's records). Kind of funny how Bruford left Yes, which was one of the tightest bands if not the tightest band in terms of composition, for KC, which is very loose and improvisational.
Starless and Bible Black Court of the Crimson King, as a very close second. Starless needs to be listened to on LSD...
In the Court of the Crimson King totally blew me away the first time I heard in somewhere around 70-71.
Maybe it's not a surprise, but In the Court of the Crimson King is my all-time number one, followed by In the Wake of Poseidon and Red and Discipline. In my opinion their 90s stuff is extremely boring guitar masturbation with no real idea to "weave" the song upon.
I have only heard "In The Court Of The Crimson King". My favorite song on it is "I Talk To The Wind".
I like most of their albums (besides Lizard) , but I would say In The Court Of The Crimson King is my favorite. It was the first album from them that I heard.
