Where's my rage been in this thread? And where is your argument to support your accusation that I am racist? And why the fuck can't you spell my name right? It's right there in front of you. From this point on, if you can't get it right, I'll have to just assume you mean to spell it wrong just to annoy me, in which case we'll be finished with our discussion. -Jeffrey
you misunderstand me I'm not saying that you have ever said those thing or assumed them I'm attempting to show the difference between you and him. He does assume those things and they are unfounded. If they were founded, wouldn't everyone assume them? Which is why I asked if you did. His assumptions show his mindset. That was my point
my best friend's name is spelled jeffery actually, so i can see why people would get it wrong? oh i'm sorry, there was no rage at all in that post...
i read jeffrey's post regarding the holiday of kwanzaa, and while i felt that it could have certainly been worded more nicely, (ie. scrap the word "bullshit"), it was still a fair question of validity. there are folks here who put down christianity a million times more than kwanzaa and barely get a second glance. i think that the more appropriate response to his thread would have been an intelligent and reasonable defense or explanation of the meaning of the holiday. it seems that the moment anyone brings up a subject directly related to a certain ethnic group, they're in for all hell. racism will always exist as long as we have eyes and ears to witness what is different around us. this doesn't mean we must feel hatred, but rather curiousity and recognition of difference. we shouldn't be striving for an imaginary utopia where we're all oblivious to our differences, because that's what makes the world beautiful. i'm not talking about equal rights at all, and i don't think jeffrey was either. it didn't seem to me that he was implying the whole of kwanzaa should be abolished, but was questioning the meaning behind it.
But how is Affirmative Action fair when it's based soley on the color of a person's skin? That's racist! Most African-Americans want equality. Affirmative Action, which is based on a person's skin color, is NOT equality, it's racism. You need to break free from the constraints of groupthink to see this.
that's right, when he said that, he was being sarcastic in a thread already turned to the topic of racism. you can't honestly use that to mean that he really thinks those things of you.
maybe not that time but the 50 million times he has said it before (and things like it) have made me believe that he does feel that way
actually, i was being sarcastic. but really.. the more i read,... i didnt read the kwanza thread so i really dont know but jeffrey didnt ever seem racist to me. i dont know everything..just my opinion.
trish you already posted tons of thread soley focused on you, but this one is not centered around you...sorry.
okay about affirmative action... i hate to lay the "my black friends" card...but i will. try to understand though...this black woman, about 45, who im pretty close to, did a speech in our speech class about how she thinks affirmative action isnt a yay or nay if you know what i mean... it's a difficult subject. Black people in this country are behind...they are... so, yes, they desereve something to be out there for them to help them catch up and truly be equal but to really be "equal", affirmative action isnt even good for them... she had no solution but the main thing we talked about was reform of it all.
I EVEN PUT IT IN QUOTATIONS!!! And she STILL maintains like I "meant" it! What the fuck did I waste the quotation marks for, then? You'd have to be dumb and blind to not see that missfontella WANTS to see racism everywhere. If she didn't see racism as the reason people can't fuckin' stand her, she'd have to admit that maybe it's just HER PERSONALITY they can't stand! -Jeffrey
becasue I just don't care enough to learn your name clearly websters definition of racism combined with your posts illustrate you as a racist.
Lynsey -- even if he is a racist, isn't he free to express how he feels? Wouldn't your persecution of him make you as much of a fascist as he is a racist? I hear people say a lot of things I might disagree with, but I simply ignore it. Stop playing the role of Mind Police.
oh and your kwanza thread also displayed a significant amount of raicism. not respecting ones believes or culture and viewing them as inferior to your own is another example of racism.
