I think we are all a little confused on what what racism consists of. Sometimes those of us who are uneducated in the subject may feel like vertain things are okay when in fact they prove to be indicitive of ones general views held against themselves. The assumptio that all members of one group posses the same charecteristics is completley outgroup homogenity biased-you're afraid of what you are not-ie you're ignorant. Those who do this usually suffer from low selfesteem, an imbalance, or have had a past traumatic experience that leaves the door of the mind shut, they feel the need to put up a complete ego defense and attack others to preserve their own self esteem/ There is another way to live, you can live in a way where you see people as people, where you help to make all one where you respect all holidays, expose your children to all cultures-not just your culture, where you embrace all people-not just those who look like you. so for those of you who feel the need to stereotype please look inside yourselves and find out what's wrong with you instead of making assumptions about others.
call me a racist for "standing up for him" or standing against the group, whatever..... but i didnt really get that from his posts.
I used to be into psychology before I found music and what you said sounds very insightful... and I think you may have mentioned it before
by the way.. you're a bitch. i found this thread really rude. you try to act like you care but if you really did, you would PM him.
I am sorry we have differing opinions on this but it's something that for some reason i would say something for in real life yet for some reason because it's on the itnernet I didn't feel I had to-but that wasn't right of me, ya know.
The thought behind it may be noble, but I wouldn't say it was "well said." I thought the execution of the actual saying was pretty clumsy. I don't understand, Lynsey, why you and others have such a problem spelling "peacefuljeffrey" when it's right out before you. Either you're ignorant, or you are doing it as a deliberate snub -- in which case I would challenge your claim to be morally superior to me, as is your wont these days. I also challenge you to show where I show up as being "racist" according to your definition laid out here. I took a couple of potshots at fontella but have not given you ANY evidence of my supposedly believing "members of one group possess the same characteristics." In fact, I'll go on record as saying that I unequivocally KNOW that to be untrue. -Jeffrey
Really? I would have thought that you would rather I go on the rampage and "show who I really am." Now you're backtracking. -Jeffrey
oh trish you called me a bitch I am shcoked as it's so unlike you, something you've never done before.
do you assume I live "in da hood"? do you assume that I am somehow like the crackwhores that you read about in the paper? do you think I associate with people that will "pop a cap" in my ass? if you do assume these things, why do you? and if you don't, why does he?
Racism exists because people like to dwell on it. The more people make an issue of race, the more racism there is. That's why I believe that Affirmative Action is a form a racism in itself. It does not strive for equality in the very least.
no, but see.. i like missfontella.. i mean, we've had our shit but i like her a lot more then lynsey and some other "white" members...but im telling you, some of the people on here take cheap shots. welcome the forums... aka "clique"
I am going to have a cigarette and 'peaceful' jeffery when I come back make sure you have a decent argument that's not hateful, if you are going to share your beliefs you should know enough about them to hold a normal non rage infested argument right?
first of all... no, i dont- did i ever say that? second.... no, i dont- did i say that? third... no, i dont- did i say that? *sigh, getting tired* i dont assume those things so the next question is irrelvant... and why does he? i dont know if he does or not... i guess if he does, then i dont know why but i guess you'll have to ask him. im only going by the posts i read.
oh and while I'm gone here's the def of prejudice- stating that one would ahve a black friend who 'busted a cap in them' would def qualify To cause to have prejudice; to prepossess with opinions formed without due knowledge or examination; to bias the mind of, by hasty and incorrect notions; to give an unreasonable bent to, as to one side or the other of a cause; as, to prejudice a critic or a juryman.
affirmative action exists because it's neccesary. people can't be trusted to be fair to every group of people or gender. those in power will always use it to their advantage.
