I feel these are such an underrated band, not many people I have spoke to about progressive rock bands know them. I love there albums (A threshold of a dream and a question of balance the most) and have tickets to see them this summer What is your opinion on them? And your favourite album
I have Threshold of a Dream.Love it.I want to listen to more of their stuff.I think they are very musical and a delight to the ears.
Their career progression early on was interesting. Their first album was a pop album of 60s beat music. Their second album is their most relevant album and an early cornerstone of classically-influenced art rock. Everything else that came after this more or less followed the same formula, but was more centered around the mellotron. They had some gorgeous melodies thanks largely to that mellotron, though perhaps some of their stuff is a bit dated and corny sounding today. Still, I like their music, and I would say that To Our Children's Children's Children and Every Good Boy Deserves Favour are my two favorites from the Moodies. I had some glowing experiences listening to these albums under the influence of psychedelics in my late teens/early 20s.
Three of my favorite Moodies songs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYenQ5C77nk"]The Moody Blues - Watching and Waiting - YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfRRYUy9ueo"]Moody Blues - Candle of Life - YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ViJn-FFJaA"]The Moody Blues - You Can Never Go Home - YouTube
