The Diet Industry is one of the biggest scams known to man. You don't go on a diet to lose weight it doesn't work. After you lose your target amount you will decide fuck the diet and go back to the crappy way you were eating before and you put all of that weight back on. The grifter who got your money for the diet book or diet plan walks away laughing as there is a sucker born every minute, and you're moving on to get duped by another grifter. If you want to lose weight and keep it off you have to change your diet, and change your relationship to food. This is difficult. One of the methods that I have heard works well is "Portion Control." The fact of the matter is that very little of what we get is only one serving based on a 2000 calorie a day diet. Sometimes it is like 5 servings. If you are really commited it takes homework learning to read food labels finding out what one serving is etc. Also remember that the 2000 calorie a day guideline was determined about 50 or so years ago based on the average size and activity level of the average person then. Today the average size for a person and the average activity level are different. Since you are also in a wheelchair your activity level etc are different too. I would ask a doctor what the recomended caloric intake is for someone of your new size activity level etc. and take it from there. Peace Out, Rev J
tlove, it seems you have become far too use to posting in true confessions. How is this a confession? you may like to explore the forums a bit more, I suggest introducing yourself to Random Thoughts.
Trust me honey every diet pill is a rip off. Just keep eating right and exorcising and the pounds should come off, if not I would go to my doctor and ask what he recommends
I use to have a weight problem. But I changed it all years back. I just went with..If man makes it I don't eat it. Has to be grown or come from animal (and some of that I watch) becaue of man's chemicals. I use no artificail sweetners or drink diet soda. I check all labels for MSG and HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) if it is there I won't put it in my mouth..along with a bunch of other preseratives..but just to many to name. I have no problem at all now staying at a healthy weight. I have all the energy I need. No such thing as a diet that works..it may work but only a temporary fix. Change your lifestyle and eating habits and you will be rewarded.
Look into P90X Workout. If you type in P90X Results on youtube you'll get lots of people showing how they changed there body in 90 days. Iv done some research and it sounds legit. Program is $100 to $130. It's a dvd set that you do at home. You'll need resistance bands $10 - 15. Pull up bar at your door $35 and push up handles to save your wrists which can go from $10 - 25. With all diet and exercise plans the key part that most people can't follow through with is staying committed. They go a week maybe a couple of weeks but then one day just fall off. Life changes are not easy but well worth it. good luck.
diets are a waste of time.. and often stress you out.. which in turn makes you gain weight... slowly start substituting healthier alternatives... personally i never buy snacky food... like chips and such.. i get jerky, nuts, bars(like fiber one, kashi)... i try to eat accordingly to my day... breakfast within an hour of waking up(gets your metabolism into gear right away.. an apple wakes you up faster than a cup of coffee)... breakfast and lunch will usually be my bigger meals.. since most of my energy is exerted from when i wake up til before diner time.. come diner time i have something "smaller" like a big veggie heavy salad.. and fruit... Also water will help you crave eating less.. 2 glasses of water with whatever you eat.. food will absorb the water making you feel fuller.. and water itself can feel filling as well.. at least a gallon a day.. i just read the other day.. the average man sweats out 1.6L of water per hour when exercising or working in the heat... a good way to tell.. basically if your urine does not look almost clear/clear.. you're not drinking enough water
I am a low glycemic index diet .It's really not a diet but a change in what you eat . I have lost 36 lbs since being on it and my cholesterol dropped 60 pts .I would recommend it for anyone .You can have carbs on this diet too .It's mostly about eating sensibly and eating healthy . Peace and joy Melissa

I have always though a good diet is controlled eating and drinking with daily exercise, minimal to no alcahol, no drugs and take away eaten sparingly if ever.
Trust me honey every diet pill is a rip off. Just keep eating right and exercising and the pounds should come off, if not I would go to my doctor and ask what he recommends. Try to find some exercise that you enjoy doing to keep you motivated. I weight train (I like the way my body looks from it), and I practice Wing Chung Do (I enjoy learning self defense).
You already have a lot of good advice here. One thing I can add is that losing weight should be a slow, gradual process. It means a change in lifestyle. It doesn't mean rapid weight change. The objective should always be to avoid rapid weight fluctuations and achieve constant weight. No quick dieting! Quick changes are shocks for the body. If the body 'thinks', that its' starving, it turns its metabolism into accumulating fat. For your information: a weight change (in either direction) shouldn't be more than 10% body weight per year. Anything more is a shock for the body (immune system, metabolism, etc.) So if you loose 5% body weight in a month, try maintaining this weight for three or four months before trying to lose some more.
I believe a proper meal will only help to loose weight, dieting doesnt help but only makes thwe body make more fats and that makes one carve more for fod , putting on more weight is the result.
Just keep one thing in your mind that: "It's not just what you eat, it's how you eat"..This will help you to keep yourself healthy..
eat more veggies. as you add more and more veggies to your diet, less healthy options will fall off the menu.
