Having Imaginary lovers on web forums is not always as great of a life as a person might expect. For example, a guy with no real love life in-person who hangs out on a forum for many years having cyber relationships with women. There are guys like this who make it a habit to try to 'own' women on a forum. They might be referred to as cyber-pimps. The pimp gets jealous when he sees another guy on the forum chatting platonic with a woman that he (the pimp) thinks he owns. Then out of jealousy he will try to start up a smear campaign on the guy he doesn't like to try to somehow prevent him from talking to the girl he thinks he owns. Some cyber-pimps get quite involved in this behavior. They have a whole group of women under their thumb on a forum who will defend the pimp no matter what. A pimp often likes to intentionally show-off to the rest of the forum members by publicly referring to the women by their real first names instead of their usernames. It gives an inflated sense of self-worth and authority. Women who don't allow themselves to be owned can see right through this type of behavior. There are some women, though, who revel in the thought of being owned by a person. It gets to be like an arm-chair quarterbacking of one's own life. Sometimes it's better to just get a real girlfriend in real life and have a family, especially for people who are already middle-age. Then all of this fictitious lifestyle can be dispensed with.
Lol, awesome term - Cyber-pimps. Cyber-pimps also like to post lots of pictures of themselves trying to look sexy. I knew a woman who looks like a troll doll in real life who posts pictures of sexy women and she pretends that they are her so she can have online romances with cyber-pimps. I have seen this happen at MMORPG's before. Where lonely people act like they are in a online romance together. Another thing that happens in the games is if a woman is doing a dungeon or raid and is talking in a chat program with the group. The minute they hear her voice they start acting flirtatious.
