hittin the road just me and my dog

My dog and I are hittin the raod soon. I havent a destionation only an idea. An idea that we dont need money (I know we do), an idea that one may travel and trade for the thing we all need in life. Currently in Topeka ks. I think I wanna go west till I hit water then north to the border, but really just where ever the wind takes me. think I wanna go strait west till I get to the ocean then north, probably a path more travled, but i've never done this before. I plan to do alot of camping, and slowly dewndeling down the number of items i carry.

 

Bring some money for when you really really need it.

Found out that I have a friend in colorado that has some land next to some of his buddies land. i think this will be a good starting point. I dont know how long I will stay there, but its a start.

 

I will have some, but I would like to know what are some popular items for trade?
Something I may be able to get here cheap and use for trade on the road?
