Hey, I graduated from university last year and now I'm jobless cause I feel lost in this world. I don't want to work in office! I don't want to do any paper work and I don't want to work with computer. I want to work with animals or plants or do something helpful for our Earth or something like that. Or I would like to perform some kind of art. Now tell me, please, what's the appropriate occupation for true hippie who has no special qualification? Any suggestions? :sunny:

It depends on the person. In the end you know best. You already seem to know the general direction you want to work in, still very broad though :p
I suggest look around and reflect on yourself what you really dig most! :cheers2: If you can't figure it by thinking about it (like me :D) the best thing is obviously to just get some work experience so you can decide from real experience what you like and which way you want to go.
To put it boldly: there is not one concrete true hippie, only in stereotypes. So it is also not sure a specific occupation associated with true hippies might suit you since different hippies look for different jobs right? ;) Well, now that I think of it, theoretically the most appropriate occupation for a true hippie seems to be volunteer work to me.

Yeah, volunteering sounds great! :) Unfortunately, I still need some money for living. Having my own tea-house with hippie-shop would be perfect for me! This concept brings peace and satisfaction to my mind. But I have no money to start. Also performing art would make me happy. But artistic career is always very hard and uncertain. And I know there are millions of better painters/photographers than me. And the last thing: I'm from Slovakia - country with only 5,5 millions of people. Very very poor country and high rates of unemployment. In my region it's 25%. So finding some job without connections is impossible here. :-/

i don't think you can run a store and tea-shop without using a computer or doing paperwork.

I know, I know. I am able to do these things. Actually I'm quite skillful in this field (computers, technical innovations and also doing papers). I just don't want it to be the main scope of my profession.

I had a sweet job doing papers in the '80s, but I'm gettin' on in years now an my fingers are a litte stiff...can still pack a mean pipe though. lol

I've found dealing antiques my most reliable job. I'm my own boss and I can find antiques and markets for them most anywhere. Educate yourself by touring antique shows and flea markets paying close attention to the things that interest you. Then start checking out garage sales looking for deals. Stick to things that interest you.

I think any job that gives works for or gives back to the community would be your best bet.

My specialization was Mass media communication, so I could be a journalist or TV speaker or any relative professions. But I'm not interested in that. Don't ask me why had I chosen this school. I was young. I had no idea what I want to do in future. Today I would choose a different school.
