So in the context of a place where one dwells,,,,whats the diffrence between a "shack" and a "dump"???

You can take a dump in a shack, but you can not take a shack in a dump.

 

genius, bird. i guess i would say that a shack can be very clean, therefore is not really a dump until it's filthy. a dump is any place that is filthy and uncared for. like an apartment, or a poorly kept trailer.

well, a shack would basically mean the size of it... but there is nothing wrong with a shack- it can be really nice and cozy.

a dump would mean in my mind, something that is trashy and not well kept and all that...

but i think that is what kc was already saying...

 

An outhouse i consider a dump, small rustic building that smells like crap.

hmm... i like to call my own place, or any place for that matter, a "shack". i mean, not in the bad way, but just as a slang thing, just like a "crib". it's all out of love. a dump on the other hand, can only be called what it is.
