musical instruments that you don't embrace

I mean, ones that you don't physically hold close to yourself. Piano and keyboard instruments seem to be the few exceptions.

Most others are embraced. String bass, for example. You hold it nice and close to you, like your boyfriend (or girlfriend). :love:

 

Triangle, from memory you hold them away and ding them.

 

But you still hold them. Not sure if that counts.

 

A drum set might be another example. One where the instruments are not held.

Actually, you hold drum sticks with your hands, and you play the base drum with your foot. The drums sit between your open legs....it's pretty intimate.

Even more intimate are things like bongos that you hold and embrace, almost like holding a baby.
