has anyone tried those online degrees to be an herbalist and if so are they worth it and can you actually get people to see you as an herbalist????
I'm studying to become a clinical herbalist at the wild rose college in alberta canada. they offer a number of their "book/study" courses online or by correspondence. Which works well for me because i'm a mama and i work full time. However there are some classes that you could simply not take online, such as wildcrafting, pharmacology, field study classes. My personal opinion would is a balance of both. I really feel you would need the hands on stuff as well as the invaluable time spent with a teacher.
yeah, but in Canada is herbalism recognized as a medical profession? In the states I know that it isn't, so thats why I wonder what schools would be good. I've found many of them as correspondence courses but I wonder if I will really learn much that way, and I haven't really seen any schools that you actually go to to learn herbalism. I have thought about acupuncture and i think I would really enjoy that, but that is 4 years of intense schooling and with a brand new baby I would hate to be away from her that long.
