What is happiness

Does anyone really know? Or are we all just beings of apathy...

Socks are a meterialistic possesion.

 

Ahhh, George is in a bad mood *hug* Its ok, there is not one kind of happiness, happiness is what makes you content in life. And if for someone, it is socks, you cant tell that person. NO! Thats not happiness, becuase its material. Its what makes you happy, not someone else. So you are the only one that can aswer that question

 

happiness is a signal that our environment gives us to ordain what is desirable and what is not.

 

happiness is not being depressed or lonely or frightend or in painor anyother illfeeling

 

What makes you all happy? I mean... in people...

 

I know...that's the only thing I had in my head at the time - that nothing meterialistic matters to me... yet knowing that still won't make me happy...

people make me happy... but at seems as if most people are apathetic...

 

a genuine, well-meant smile, i guess.

like, when somebody smiles back at me

 

Sometimes I find it difficult to smile without a reason...

 

no it's all for a good reason...

i generally smile when the communication with a particular person is going really well... and it is such a pleasure to see them smile back.

 

yeah... but what if you're talking to yourself...

 

When people get along...that makes me happy.

 

Its an emotion related to the neruotransmitter serotonin which is released to help us mate and be succesful so are offspring are better off.

Yes, I realize that. It's easier to just say it scientifically, but let me ask you this... Can you say it with feeling and meaning?

 

But Science is the search for meaning and understanding

 

I understand that... but I can ruin the entire concept of life itself with science.... and I've said it many times...

It's the fact that life isn't even a proven concept... it's only a theory.

 

My problem is that I feel like people understand but I realize they don't.... and I feel like I'm talking to a wall... so I often end up talking to myself and when you have two people who aren't smiling and that are so alike, you can't make yourself smile if you're feeling the same thing and you're the same person... you need someone else's input.
