No drug test in Canada?

    Is that true? I heard because of your laws someone on drugs is considered disabled, and employers can not deny you a job based on the results of a drug test.

    If that's true it's another good reason for a stoner to move up North. With that and free health care you would be all set.:)

    I doubt that is true, and if it is, it's probably not because somebody smoking pot is considered disabled. And free health care isn't all it's cracked up to be! Good luck if you move to Canada ;)

    No... I think they're allowed to drug test you, but they can't do random drug testing. So they may drug test you before you get the job but they're not legally allowed to drug test you unannounced once you've been hired (with the exception of alcohol). I believe they're allowed to schedule drug testing i.e every 3 months just as long as employees are given due notice. I looked this info up a few years back so I'm not 100% on all of it.

    With that being said, drug testing is only allowed in limited circumstances i.e safety sensity positions... You won't be drug tested if you're looking for a job at Wal Mart :p
