This is an announcement that there will be a council for any California family that would like to discuss a potential regional Rainbow Gathering in the spring of this year. The council will be held in the Mendocino National Forest on from February 1-3, with the main council to be held on the 2nd, Groundhogs day. There is discussion about manifesting a shanti-sena workshop circle on February 3rd so we can share our experiences and tactics with peacekeeping. Directions and details will be forthcoming, in the meantime you can contact me at rainbowtopkat@yahoo.com to get plugged in early. Additionally you can visit http://groundhogdaycircle.blogspot.com/ for updates as they emerge. Finally, you can tune in to Diamond Dave's radio show, the Common Thread Collective at mutinyradio.org on Fridays from 3-6pm Pacific Time, to hear weekly updates on the status of the council and the gathering. This council should also hopefully fulfill the secondary purpose of reconnecting and networking many of the defunct or disparate clans of our large California family. Loving you! -Finch

Hello family! On Groundhog's Day Weekend, February 1-3, there was a council held on the land in the Mendocino National Forest. It was open to all people that considered themselves to be California Rainbow Family of Living Light. About 80 people all in all showed up, and the council numbered as many as 52 in the circle, including the resource supervisor for the Mendocino National Forest, who the rangers brought in the sit in the circle with us. After circling for several hours, the council came to a consensus that there would be an All-California Regional Rainbow Gathering this spring from April 29-May 5. The general agreement among the group was that an ideal site would rest somewhere between Sacramento and Bakersfield, in order to allow access to family from both the north and south ends of california. WE ALWAYS NEED MORE SCOUTS. If you have a vehicle and can be self-sufficient, we can really use your energy trying to find a site to gather in! WE LOVE YOU! -Finch
