How serious do you take North Korea "threats" towards USA?

Is it just overblown and the threats simply used as fear mongering? What are your opinions? NKorea is appearing in the news a lot, again. I know how the split between North and South came to be, I at least understand the history. But have not been paying attention to more recent events. I think between Iran and NKorea and a few other countries, US will probably 100% go down the shitter trying to fund action in these countries.

 

The North Koreans cannot feed themselves, what you see of their bluster is mostly directed towards their own population. They exist in a state of permanent existential threat from the United States, if their leaders are to be believed, and questioning those leaders is a sure fire way to end up in a labour camp. That's not to say there is no threat. There is a lot of posturing from all sides and the N Koreans want missiles as a deterrent and as a way to flex political muscle in their regional sphere of influence. They are not going to Attack the US, that would be complete suicide. The elite of N Korea send their children to posh foreign schools and they have the best of everything compared to their starved population. These men are not Patriots, they're incredibly well practiced and successful thieves. Thieves are fond of living to enjoy their spoils.

 

I don't take North Korean threats against the US seriously at all, but it serves as another way to instill fear in people, to keep their minds always on the thought of military intervention.

N. Korea is a joke. They are no match for the US. If I were Pres Obama I'd be calling their bluff all the way... saying "Please, please launch a missel towards us so I can have a reason to bomb the shit out of you."

 

I like China's attitude: "Just let North Korea be 'angry' … China hopes for a stable peninsula, but it's not the end of the world if there's trouble there. This should be the baseline of China's position."

I wouldnt even give them the reply to piss them off more. They always pull crap and back out. If they were to, They would be only taking a few down with them. Who i dont know, But they wouldnt last but a few hours total.
They use their power to scare a few, It works to an extent. Too many eyes on and in the country for them to have even a chance.

Yeah N Korea is a MASSIVE threat to the US of A.
They've actually got the weapons of mass destruction that George Bxsh spotted Saddam Hussein with. You know, the ones he bought from Harry Potter at Kings Cross Railway Stn

Maybe good old Uncle Sam should blow up China, Pakistan, Syria and the whole World while they're at it.. just to be safe... Hmmm :-/

That would rather depend on who were allies.
