I suffer really badly from scalp psoriasis and I've been looking around for a homemade, 100% natural shampoo I can make tomorrow morning. I don't have castile soap or glycerin so are there any alternatives? I'd really appreciate a full recipe if possible. Thanks. :)

i dont have a recipe for a shampoo, but have you ever considered to stop using shampoo altogether? I was my hair with water everyday, theres no need for shampoo at all... You could start by washing your hair every other day, then go 2 days without washing.. and so on until your hair doesnt even need shampoo at all.

    You can use orris root.

You grind it up into a fine powder. But you don't shower with it or try to use any water with it. Just put it in your hair and brush it out.

It doesn't feel like shampoo and your hair may get a powder build up over time.

But it will take all the oils and dirt out of your hair.

    BAKING SODA!!!

Seriously, I've been mixing a couple tablespoons of baking soda with water (I use an old shampoo bottle) and use that to wash my hair and it works better than any shampoo I've ever used.

A guy I worked with only used baking soda, Ive never tried the baking soda, but it got me to think about shampoo so I stopped using it. I use ivory soap and if my hair is a bit dirty I'll lather some ivory soap in it, but for the most part water works.

One of the best natural shampoo is Kunkudukai
Sikakhai powder is also preferable as natural shampoo.

The above given are very healthy for the hair and hair growth.

I use baking soda, add a tbsp or two with warm water and it's shampoo. You need to play with how much baking soda to use depending on how your hair is and how greasy it is. I found that the more I used baking soda the better my hair looked. At first I felt their was a transitional phase. I also rinse with apple cider vinager.
You can also use Dr.bronners for shampoo not homemade but it's nice as well
Baking soda and cider vinegar in cheap and very easy.

yes bicarbonate of soda. i use it, and have used it now for years. i just put it in my hand and wet it to a paste, leave it on for 5, then rinse, its great, no grease no muck, and eco friendly. then rinse with a bit of vinegar for shine.

I don't make my own shampoo but I hardly need it anymore. Once you get off the habit of using it, your hair sorta tames itself and clears up all on its own. I use a light amount of coconut oil when my scalp or hair is dry. I use coconut oil for just about everything, it works wonders!

I have used aloe vera plant as my shampoo and also some coconut oil but I haven't tried anything except them. Baking soda seems quite interesting, I might consider it.

For the water only folks, what temperature range is optimal? Do you want hot to open pores and loosen sebum?
Do you rinse with cool to cold for shine?
