flac music

    what do i need to have in order to play flac files. i have music match but i think i ned a program to convert the files to mp3

    First of all mp3 is quite possibly the worst format to play music in. You need Flac Frontend - do a search on google to get a free download. To convert the files, drage and drop each file in the flac window then hit decode. I would also recommend downloading winAmp to play these files through - again better choice than music match

    i tried doing that and then when i hit decode it says flac exe no found. and do you know anything about shortened files either?

    I dunno which I downloaded, but I know it was for shorten, but my winamp now plays flac and ogg aswell as shorten.

    ok...I now see a flac Icon on my desktop.....maybe I downloaded another program too....I suck disregard this post.

    ogg vorbis is the way to go, too bad its not more popular in p2p!

    for shortend - download mkw Audio Compression tool. Also with FLAC you have to drag each individual track into the box - if you drag the whole file there may be text data and thats probably whats giving you troubles.

    I recommend iTunes and AAC codec, if you want compressed music (way better than mp3)
