I'm damned sure there are people who have no intentions of working, and love their handout (however minuscule it might be).

Statistically, yes, more black people are on welfare - there are less black people in the US compared to white people but more are on welfare.
There is probably a word for it but I can't think of it right now.

Take my circumstances at the moment: I have a job but there isn't much work around this time of year. I can work 16 hours a week and get benefits (welfare):Housing (85% of my rent) and living allowance (71 pound a week - but anything I earn is deducted from that). That's about it. With out that, what am I supposed to do in the short term? Find another job and lose all the redundancy money I have worked up over the last 5 years? Try and struggle on 300 pounds a month that I might earn? Try and find another job and have to turn down work from my primary employer?

Some of my friends (a mixture of colours) are like you - they have the same attitude, and use the same language - but underneath are not bad people really (why I don't hate you).
I try and be fair. It's not difficult, and something I'm going to try and pass onto my baby nephew.

It's nice to have a late wake-up, to be honest. I was pretty much working 6 days a week last year. It took it out of me. But I've worked approx 15 out of the 18 years I've been 'out there' - so I know I would get bored. Also, once I top up my rent and pay utilities etc - 5 pound a day is no way to live, especially if you want some sort of life.
